Thats true. Volkswagen only used 16"-wheels. But the 205-wheels were not only used for Volkswagen. Opel, Tempo, Tatra, Bristol and different other companies used 205-wheels for their cars. And Trailers, because these wheels were very popular as a wheel for a trailer.

they are dated 1949... I forget what month. The holes were drilled I think... I can see how they spiral into the steel... but there is only about 3/4 of a turn of the spiral to get all the way through the rim... so the jig was under great pressure of some sort.

The 15 inch size is weird for 1949 and the 4 inch width is also odd.

according to 1 article, the wheels are 16"

I have read in a book recently that the same type of heads were used in two of the engines for the type 64 cars. Petermax Mulle bougth them directly after the war from the Porsche Gmund workshops.

Does anyone know if Peter Max Muller in Germany had a son and how to contact him? I know Peter Max Muller the (1950's to 1970's) German race car driver died a while back and his wife as well. I was wondering if he had a son and where he might be?? Tim

Digging up an old thread here.
I see that my '66 Tourist Delivery Beetle got its 300 mile service and inspection at Petermax Muller VW in Hanover on September 2nd, 1965.
