I have seen a 64 Riv, and it was based on a Kombi rather than a panel. It was from the Tri-cities area of Washington as I recall. It is possible that it was brought to Riviera after it was sold off, and then converted. |
Yep, that's our '65.

Thanks for posting up. I could have sworn that yours was a 64, but maybe I just confused that with the fact that it was a Kombi, and the only Kombi Riviera I had seen.
What is the production date on that beautiful bus? What is the import code? _________________ nothing |

Isn't 28 O October 28th? So that'd be a '65 model. Right? _________________ 9th Owner of a 1971 Tintop Westy

Found a pic of my 67 Rivi [on the C & O site/forum] from yesterday morning. Sadly only a few old VWs at the show but a lot of fun talking to folks. Hey you ATLers, cmon on out in January and lets park 'em together! |

Hi,
Iīve seen this interiour.
Someone told me itīs a Riviera camper interiour
but the bus is from 1959.
When did they start their production? and habe they taken only new VW t1 or used ones, too?
The bus has no sticker or Plate from Riviera.... |

Does not look like a Riviera interior to me. Not sure who made it, but I doubt it is Riviera.
Earliest Riv I have seen was a 64. I' not sure if you could bring an older VW to them in the mid-60's and have them fit a camper kit. _________________ nothing |

There should be an M-Plate on the frontside of the passenger bulkhead...it will look much like this and have m-code 199 designating it as a Swivel Seat.
Some good Swivel Seat reading here:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2...mp;start=0
As you will see after reading the SS thread that rare as they are, the SS Kombis are rarer yet that the panels...post up the m-plate!
Once you are certain it's not a Riviera, I'd suggest moving it out this thread and into the Swivel Seat thread I listed above.
Great bus BTW! _________________

Looks like those windows are the style that were cut into panels. Not positive, but probable. We need a few exterior shots to be sure. _________________ nothing |
