...an M-Plate on the frontside of the passenger bulkhead isnt the anymore.
Just two holes.
The seats are no swivel seats. I donīt know which modell.
There are aluminum windows installed. The cargo doors have two windows and on the driver side are three aluminum windows installed. Each window consists of three glass plates, which can be placed.
When I removed the windows from the loading doors you could see cuts in the corners.
I really donīt know what kind of interiour it is. |

My .02:
It is a swivel seat (even if you got no 'swivel' currently). Look at the stand.
That doesn't look like a Riviera camper set up inside. But that was a panel van originally. |

Here ist a photo of the seat. The seat is too wide, so that he was on the side widens metal base with a wood to provide enough space for the seat rails.
The seat was trying to relate. The original reference was blue and is still partly present. |

I can't believe it's been almost 10 years since I bought my bus. I've had a lot of fun with it, but am disappointed I have not made further progress on the restoration. In fact, I've only driven it about 3 times in the last year. The last time I camped? July 2012. Sigh. I guess I need some motivation.

I hear ya, dude. I've been there. My Riviera has been off daily driver status for a year now and already the larger projects have waited as I've addressed small stupid things. I try to drive it once a week or so.
And camping...yeah, didn't happen at all in 2013. Thankfully, the whole family wants to get out there this year. _________________ 9th Owner of a 1971 Tintop Westy

Maybe I'm wrong, but this appears to be a '66 Riviera built from a Kombi rather than panel platform. Am I wrong? Is it fairly rare to see a Riviera Kombi?

Less so than panels but not rare, I've seen some where the left window holes were even cut out to install the big window. Those things were selling like hotcakes and if orders exceeded supply then the next cheapest available model went under the knife, many owners also took their bus in for a conversion later after purchase when they decided they really wanted to go camping. _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Hey Martyn,
A couple of my window cranks were broken and the units I bought here were nice and work great:

Hello split bus people!
if i may post a couple of bay window pics here, i'm looking for some info on my 68 riviera, or more precisely the sliding windows. These look similar to the ones used on some of your split busses but longer.
Does anyone have any info on rebuilding these? Mine leak water in the bus like crazy, damaging the wood paneling. and that makes me sad. I'd love a source for the inner seals. anyone?
Also the pop top leaks because the shape is all wrong. the edge doesn't follow the shape of the roof, so the seal is useless.. but that's another problem.

Funny, becouse I also have a '68 Riviera, with pop top but the sliding windows are mentioned on the m-plate and they are different from yours, see the rounded corners!

Roland, are you sure that is not a RoadRunner camper conversion? A friend of mine had a 68 RoadRunner camper many years ago, and it had those windows.
Also, as a side note, I really love a foggy morning. Thanks for the photos. _________________ nothing |

yes looks like yours is based on a windowed kombi and mine is based on a panel van..

might very well be a roadrunner. I need to look into it, but i couldn't find any mention of a conversion in the bus or in the original paperwork that i have..
Love a foggy morning for a nice picture thanks _________________ Also, vanagons! |

Roland,
My big "picture window" has a large aluminum 'drip edge' mounted over it and that seems to keep the water in check. Not sure where you would find it but worth a look...

Maybe something like this? I can't seem to find the typical rain gutters but I bet they are out there.

These are Toyota Corona seats from the late 70's, if you were curious. _________________ '66 SO-42
