I made a monumental stupid mistake last night.

It'll live. My wife drove it home from the wrecker yard. H4 bulbs are o.k. Pulls to the right under braking. One fender, front section, bumper, windshield.

I over corrected, hit a guy wire for a electrical pole. I was trying to free myself and access the damage with the officer pulled up.

It's going to take time and money to fix it all.

Damn.

Damn, well at least you're alright - could have been much worse. That reminds me...I need to get a front bumper!

The question is did you get your hard top yet? Are you going to still drive over to pick it up? Sorry about your car. I know how it feels because my brother crashed my 74 last year. Good luck getting it back on the road.

Ouch,

Sorry that sucks

My uncle about a year and a half ago was driving around without insurance in a 1994 Dodge Viper he just bought a week earlier for 35K.

Lost control, pinned a toyota corolla against the tree.

Ending up spending 40K to repair his 35K car :(. + 10K for the corolla.

Luckily nobody was hurt.

How are you? Looks like a solid hit.

Did you have shoulder restraints?

I'm so sorry to hear about this.

Did the lower torsion bar get damaged?

Don't feel like you are the only one to make that mistake. Hit a rock on a backroad and sent my buggy into some small trees about 30mph. No real damage, wearing seatbelts, no injuries. Worst part was, I had my 13 year old with me. First time DUI is a misdemeanor, having my son with me at the time is a felony. 1 to 5 plus $2500. Quit drinking that day, three months ago. Hence my new avatar. Still in court. You would think being 58 would of had better judgement.

Damaged parts mostly off. Left front fender (driver) is toast. Bumper too. The front apron box is knackered pretty well too. Nothing that heat and pressure can't fix.

Time to start paroozing the classifieds here.

As for the hard top, not yet. But I have paid for it. Just need to pick it up.

Thankfully, it's not as bad as it could be.

Have you ever used a stud welder/dent puller?

http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=1676&itemType=PRODUCT

An amazing tool that straightens out dent very easily..

I just gotta say that I am so glad to hear that neither you nor anyone else got hurt. Stupidity is cured by learning from the mistake...unfortunately the education will not be cheap.
BTW, I was going to go to my barn today in the rain to get the measurements of the bolt for my hardtop, but now I'll wait until it's dry...

Spent the larger part of the day removing the damage. Looks like this with the old stuff off:

Note rust in photo... maybe there is a silver lining. Rust abatement!

It's ugly, but it can and will be repaired properly.

It may take time, but its going to get done.

Yes. I was wearing my glasses and got a nice cut and good black eye. My nose is bruised too.

I'm toying with updating the seat belts with three point units.

How many beers?
I have a thing that looks just like that but green. Although I bought it that way as a parts car.
