You see this and you "like" the industrial engine?
Poor boy. |
Guess I'm sick I've seen vintage car display pics but how often do you see one with an industrial engine? _________________ Brett

| I hate gruesome photos. Kills the thread in my opinion. (Pun not intended.) |

Has anyone tried using the following website to identify some of the many photos here?
www.images.google.com
Here is how it works: Simply paste the link to the photo into the field and hit enter. A list of results will show the several places the photo is hosted on the internet, often with descriptions.
Alternatively, one can click on the "Search by image" link and instead google will scan the millions of known images on internet and come back with a perhaps more precise answer.
Try it on some of the old photos posted here and you will be surprised how much info is available like dates, etc. Of course if people are posting up their own scanned copies of old family photos then it will not work!
For example: By pasting the link from the Beetle vs. truck photo above and a little judicious use of google translate you get the following:
http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&sl...md%3Dimvns

| There's already a dedicated thread on this site for gruesome crash photos. Since I'm a fairly regular contributor to this thread, I'd prefer to keep it for cool photos, not corpse photos. |

This is Frankfurt am Main, of course, although I can't remember the street name or the district.
See the medieval tower in the back ground? It still stands, but the gate it is attached to was removed to widen the road sometime before I got there in the mid-80s; indeed, it may well have been shortly after this picture was taken.
When I was delivering meat to restaurants, there was a Yugoslavian restaurant on my route, right by that tower. They were a fun bunch of people. That was where I first tasted Budvar, the real Budweiser... |

Wow...how does one go from delivering meats in Germany to living in Texas? Sounds like you have some good stories there! _________________ .
