That's an awesome press release. You can see where the artist touched up the lines of the car with gray paint to make the details stand out for newsprint reproduction.

Also, the cutline copy describes the second Volkswagen to be exported to the U.S. after Ben Pon's first unsuccessful attempt. It was shipped over for display at a German Industries trade fair.

Looks like a Split Bug on the left. Found the pic online and is supposedly taken in Austria during or right after WWII. Could be VW38, VW39, KDF? Anyone can fill in any details? What truck is it? Humber maybe? Where is the licence plate from? Nipple hubcap on the Beetle (KDF?)?

It appears to have ice pick door handles so that would rule out the first batch of VW38s or VW303's. Also appears to have nipple hub caps.

There are like five evenly spaced dots on the edge of the hub cap so those are what? Reflections? The hub cap also appears to be painted the same color as the wheel?

and it is painted up to the body line. I painted mine the same way, i think it looks much better than to the trim line
