|
|
I have a set of 5 spoke wheels on my Ghia bought from an ad here a while back. I assume they are the American Eagle repops. These are fairly new wheels. A Bus I bought a couple months ago also had a set of 5 spokes on it but they are slightly different. My Ghia's 5 spoke wheels are smooth but the ones that were on the Bus have a bumpy texture. I know this Bus has had these wheels since the early 90's. Are these from a different manufacturer? The pic is of the Bus wheel. Any info appreciated.

Post a pic of the center cap holes of both wheels and we can tell you, The American Eagle 5 spokes have a larger center cap hole with a thicker wall around the hole, the Rocket brand have a smaller center cap hole with a thinner wall around the hole. _________________ GFK

will do, but it'll be a few days at least. The wheels are currently an hours drive away. _________________ 2000 Golf TDi

I`ve had American Eagles that are both smooth and rough. For me the black wheels were smoother for whatever reason. _________________ If you`re going to do something, do it right. |

there is a mexico made copy of the american eagle wheel. (im not talking about rockets) it looks identical to the AE but with a really rough crappy casting. _________________ Jesus Saves
