I missed this one, its the same brand yes. But it seemed to be a little bit different from mine. Mine seemed to be a bit wider??? maybe a bit sleeker too? see pic below.

Here's mine...
Picked the light up at a yard sale for $.10 (yes, a dime). Rewired, new bulb, and some creative bracket and housing repair, so I probably have $5 into it now. Works like a charm. _________________ "sometimes i wish you could kick people through the internet..." |

Here's the 3rd brake like on my Mexican Beetle. It's a copy of the old German accessory Jokon back up light but with red lenses. It works great and requires no drilling. I purchaced in here in the classified a couple of years ago from someone on the east coast. I think he was also making repro parcel nets and stainless hinge covers. He was making them single for early cars, double for 64-67 and a little wider for 68+ cars. The workmanship is great and he had them with red or clear lenses.

A CJVWS Club member is the guy who is making those Joken Brake Lights along with a few other goodies. High quality stuff. He makes them for both early and late cars.

i turned both reverse lights on my 67 into brake lights. 10 minutes with some wire and some spade connectors and she was wired. 10 minutes taking the lenses off and spraying the inside of them with testors (model car paint) candy apple red and you're done. It can be changed back to stock in 15 minutes. |

That one turned out pretty cool.
That reminds me, I decided I wanted the existing 3rd brake lights on my bugs to be brighter so I thought I'd try some LED bulbs from SuperBrightLEDs. I put them in the other day.
My Jokon clone in my 62 didn't show that much improvement.
The one in my Baja was much better improved though.

I wanted something high mounted, so I bought one of these.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/24-LED-12V-Car-Third-Brake...mp;vxp=mtr
$7 shipped to my door from Hong Kong
I didn't use the supplied 3m adhesive, but instead, I removed the end pivots and used small picture frame hangers that are tucked into the window rubber. The wires are very small and easily tucked into the window rubber as well to hide them.
Not the brightest thing in the world, but it is plenty bright enough to be noticed.
Edit: Found another pic that shows it better

I'd say that's the most aesthetically pleasing "inside grill" light I have seen yet. It may not be very bright in the picture but I dig the uniform illumination! _________________ -Tim
