It seems like it would take a while to get some heat waiting for the oli to get warm as I would assume this heater would require extra capacity. Also, I would wonder what this could do for the engine as it would take longer for the oil to warm.

It seems like a solution in search of a problem. There are easier and better ways to get heat in your car.

I've not tried this also.
But if you're looking at alternatives, here's another.

In a cold climate you'll never get an oil cooler hot enough to heat the car. On top of that you'll have the engine in and out every time the seasons change to re-install the oil cooler or risk killing the engine. VW's conventional heater puts out quite enough heat if it is all hooked up properly and the car is not rotted out.

I have a 1500W inverter and a 1500W heater. Heater is 120V and draws about 15AMP, I haven't had any issues and it works well. Make sure you have a really good battery.

No it doesn't. The laws of physics prove you wrong.

i was looking to add extra heat but not use it as the primary heat. i,d really have to remove the engine every season just to re-install ? ouch Rolling Eyes as for killing the engine it,s already about gone but have a rebuilt replacement so that, i wouldn,t mind to bad however i don,t understand how it would kill it . would you explain this to me in a little bit of detail ?
