Thanks for that David. Do you have any of the 50-52 style in stock? _________________

yes, all in stock
if you have 'L" handle in cargo door as in your pics, it will take the 2nd size, as in 53-60
and yes, some early 53 have no "L" handle in cargo door as the case of a DD panel here in S Cal. That still had orig small bumpers on cargo doors and body |

Clara's '53 has the small short stoppers like the early panels. I think the forward cargo door and the cab door have them mounted closer together (not in the middle of the cargo door) so they work properly. No evidence of any other holes ever being there. |

My bus is a 52 and definitely has 'style 1' stoppers on it _________________

This is two different ways they are mounted. Looking through my many pictures, I have found that the change is between chassis number 20-018941 and 20-019147. Except for M23 and M33, the ones with doors on the right, or double doors. I can't explain why, but have a look if you see a double door or a barndoor with loading doors on left. Fore instance, Mark's 20-047626, and Richard Clarks's 20-081487, they are mounted the "newer" way on the right and the "old" way on the left side.

my guess is that the cargo door with the outer handle is generally pre drilled for the bumper in the far edge because it is mainly effective when using the small style bumpers(opposed to large bumpers on post55 buses being centrally drilled)and when used as a left side opening doors that bumper needs to be placed accordingly on the beltline.
then of course the left side front cargo door bumper would need to be placed at the edge to again be effective. i wonder if these left side doors/body have filled and relocated holes. _________________ www.thebustransfer.com

Speaking about door stoppers... Have you ever seen this style hinge stop? This is from a 59 and not a barndoor.
