I know the OG lenses for the late model T3's are originally Amber but I installed a set of the repop Clear lenses to give it that early model look, only thing is that the bulbs must be Amber and there a tough find. I have used a paint product that is Amber color but the color just doesn't look right.
To yellow looking.
Any leads on where to purchase the right, Clear Amber bulbs?
Also, I have seen "Italian Style" lenses which are 1/2 clear & 1/2 amber, anyone have a photo of these?
Though the Clear repop lenses are a nice addition, they required a lot of filing to properly seal to turn signal housing. Whats your experience with these?
Which ones do you like ? |

where did you get the clear ones?
and i would love to see the half clear ones
when i left the lenses off the rear of my square
i installed Chrome bulbs
they are made for clear euro lenses so you dont see any color behind them till they are on
\
go to ebay and type in the search
1156 or 1157 chrome bulb amber
for the little ones
Just get the number off them and reference them to the ons you want _________________ 74 Mexi Swamp Thing. 70 square volksrod (Swamp Rat)..65 C10

That's a pretty common size, you should be able to find them at your local auto parts store. _________________ 1988 Ford Festiva L

Just for reference, we are talking about the Front Turn Signal Running Light Bulbs not the dual filament turn signal bulbs.
Russ, Thanks on the lead for the bulbs, but I stand corrected, it is the Running Light Bulb 1891A or1895A Amber Bulb not the Turn Signal Bulb.
I had seen the "Italian Style" lenses here on theSamba photos but I just can't seem to locate photo, they are quite unique looking. |

thats the reason why i went with the chrome ones
my lenses were crap and cracked
and they cost me the same as regular bulbs _________________ 74 Mexi Swamp Thing. 70 square volksrod (Swamp Rat)..65 C10

I found the orange globes at my local auto shop (in Australia!). They were the same except for having one of the small locating bumps in a different spot. I just filed the offending bump off and they are perfect.
I've got a 68 with clear bullet lenses, orange globes. _________________ John

Even though they were Italian Mkt I figure you would at least see some used here on theSamba classifieds, I've never seen them in person.
$400. is steep but there's been a few offers, it seems.
