That 190Dc is a 1964 and is an all- numbers- matching car that hasn't been on the road since '02. Just got her done and she heads to her home in Texass next week.

Here's a 1958 220S sedan that I literally got in boxes. Half the stuff was missing. This one took just over a year, and had to be stripped to bare metal.

I had a 73 1113 for a year.

It was a flat bed wrecker at 24,000lbs. The only reason I had to sell it was that I was moving to an apartment and there was no room for it.

I have always been a Mercedes fan from a very early age, but have never owned one. I fell in love (and still am in love) with this one:

My new daily driver, a 1983 230E grey market import currently sitting at Tram's compound getting some work done:

1972 280SEL 4.5 that'll go to Tram's when I pick up the 230E. One owner car (before I got it) with 106,000 miles. Only driven 2,000 miles in the past 22 years.

Nice one, Tram! Did you by any chance use any parts from the Pontons that were at B&R Auto Wrecking in Eugene last time I was there? I also thought this was the one that was at a trailer-sales lot on Highway 99 in Eugene and was last seen by me in a driveway in a residential area along with a late-60s American fullsized sedan, but for some reason I thought that one had a canvas sunroof.

Nah. If I can't have butter I won't eat margarine. I'd rather go without. Smile

The pre-war 500/540 models are some of the most beautiful (and expensive) cars ever made. Always a favorite of mine.

I'm going to look at a 300cd this weekend- as a replacement for my current DD. Same year, color, interior, about 50k less miles and the engine has been replaced. Supposedly the AC works unlike mine and the guy has all paperwork and receipts, and the floor is not rotting out (like the one I have). We'll see....

I drove a 1980 240D with a manual trans for quite awhile until I crashed it...had a young family at the time so we switched to a 1980 300D Wagon. I ended up selling the wagon to a guy that kept stopping and asking if I wanted to sell it...should have kept it, but a friend gave us an '89 Volvo 240 Wagon that we put about 200K on.

My great uncle Bob Wombles had two independent MBZ repair shops in Newport Beach, CA. He was well renowned in that affluent community and built a very successful business. His shops were spotless and expensive art adorned the walls in the service bays. He was the consummate gearhead and once told me he had all kinds of tricks to improve the performance of PT Boats in WWII....He was a PT mechanic in the South Pacific. He passed away in the mid-90's. I was fortunate to be left some of his art and photographs. I'm happy to share a bit of it on these pages...Enjoy.

Some great cars shown here!
My 190e is a 2.6 5 speed which when there are no vacuum leaks is a lot of fun...now running like hell as it has been too cold out to really spend the time outside putzing with it.
