I'll root for the player, but I can't get behind a hot weather team. If the cup series is played in Florida in June, the ice will most assuredly suck. That makes the game less interesting to watch, and the players hate it.

It seemed to hold up in LA recently and maybe now in Anaheim. Get over it and go surfing. Wink

Yeah, but not at Refugio... what a sad situation! Nothing like in '69, but pretty bad.

Phil, I'm giving ol' dennis a bit o' friendly gas over SoCal hockey teams and you raise me an oil spill? Killjoy. Wink

I've been gone for a couple of weeks, and away from digital info-tainment. Tonight I watched the Blackhawks shut down the Ducks to move on the the big tourney. (thankfully) I just hope the ice doesn't suck in Tampa. Wink

Game 5 SAT, really stretching the finals out this year! Over 2 weeks if it goes to 7. Couple hard fought close games, injuries starting to show on both sides

Definitely been a tough struggle for both teams so far. I'll be in Spokane tomorrow night so I will have to watch the game there instead of home.

Congrats to the Ghicago Blackhawks on their third Stanly Cup win in six seasons. It was definitely a good, hard fought series. Kudos to the Tampa bay Lightning for making it all interesting.

Time to start toughening up for next year...

Chicago has always been my second favorite team. But if they win it one more time in the next few years, I shall hate them like I hate the Yankees.

IT"S BAAAACK!

Very Happy

Minnesota wins their first two, including the home opener against the rival Blues and a nice come from behind win against the hated Avs. Parise with four goals in two games. Good times.

Im a slightly casual hockey fan, really dont watch much regular season but playoff hockey is always a fun watch. I was flipping around channel surfing and tuned into what looked like an overtime and it was like 3 on 3. Shocked
It was really quite awesome to watch, super exciting. If this is a new change...its in the right direction.

3 on 3 OT is a new rule this year. So far it is pretty exciting.

Bumping this thread as I sit here watching the all star game. Interesting new format with the three-on-three tournament style.

John Scott was the controversial fan voted captain from the Western Division (AZ Coyotes at that time). He has been the star of the show so far. helluva guy, too. Here is a great article he recently wrote about his situation.

Pacific wins the final, and John Scott gets the MVP!

This was the most interesting and entertaining all star game I have seen. I usually only bother to watch the skills competition.

For anyone who thinks Scott should not have been there, I think there is more to being an all star than your stats. It is about who you are and how hard you work. He works damn hard, and his team mates love him for it. That is what matters. To me.

I had dinner with my brother (the hockey fan) Sat night. He told me the scott story ...the internet voting, his team not handling it well and traded him...and I was cracking up. My brothers spin on the story was more entertaining than your link. ... Only in the NHL. No way this happens in any other league.
