It looks great, I need some for my so35 when I have the spare cash.
Are you going to start a thread for your bus and share some pics ? I checked the gallery but couldn't see any, although the road trip pics with your bay westy look great
Cheers

Looks like a great platform for your project. The soundtrack pretty much sums up what its like when you find a new bus. |

I got some good info from this thread when I was looking at buying my new bus so I thought I would resurrect it. My bus is a 63 RHD SO35, I was really looking for an early pre 58 bus but this came up for sale it was owned by an old VW friend I haven't seen for a few years .
Originally delivered to Sweden and then imported to the UK from Norway in the late 90s, it came with the privy tent, roof rack, tumblers (only 4 and I'm not sure if they are originals), table and spare tyre table mount.
Its missing the cot and chairs (I think it would have had two chairs being RHD and having no jump seat), there are two holes for the chair clamps in what I think is the original wooden floor. There is also no chandalier, Mauser bowl, jugs or toilet !
It also has later 14" wheels which I will be swapping for 15's soon.
Here's some pics, including a couple from when it was in Norway and as it looks now, it was light grey originally but was then repainted white all over and since then has had the lower half only painted grey. The original paint is still showing inside the wardrobe etc and can be clearly seen in the picture of the Eberspacher ducting. The white paint comes off fairly easily so I am considering whether to strip it off, I might just do the inside to start with.
M-code options include 6 popouts and the Eberspacher. The popouts are still there but the heater is long gone ...

Nice bus kevm, mine was built 3 days earlier on the 16th(1100171) . Yours is the closest VIN to mine I have seen, they produced quite a few buses in those three days. Mine is not a flipseat, DD/WT panel. |

Are all flip-seats (top and bottom) made with springs, or did the later versions (top and bottom) made of just foam?
I have a flip-seat from a wide-hatch SO-34 and the top and bottom is all foam on plywood with homemade vinyl covers.

Thanks kevm, I would buy that but it's in France and I'm in California. The good thing is I can now see what is missing and try to make it. |

I don't know what I was thinking, I can't make that latch piece, so I just bought it. I will be much happier. Thanks again to kevm. |

This is my 1962 SO34 that I bought in January of this year. I have only done one camping trip this year (Big Sur) but looking forward to many more next year. As you can see it needs a little loving. |

This winter I will reupholster the seats, have the top/white repainted and hopefully get to the wood paneling. My buddy Ray Schubert Rebuilt the engine, front beam and brakes. Now it runs and drives perfect. Plus the front end has been repaired as it had a large dent. |
