Hey guys,
Tell me if this math seems right: I currently have long axle/long spline setup with drum brakes. The wheels are Centerline 15x5.5 with 4" backspacing with 26x8x15 Goodyear slicks under 2" wider rear fenders. I am switching to early axles (just about 2" shorter), but going with 15x7" wheels with 26x8.5x15 MT slicks.
Now, taking the 2" I gained from the axles, if I left the old wheels and tires, the position under the fender would be the same with 2" backspace instead of 4"? But since I am increasing the width of the wheels by 1.5", does this mean I now have to have at least 3.5" backspace? Or do I just measure the front half and match that?
Or, is it just easier to measure from the drum to the fender lip for my outside half, and subtract that from 7"? I just don't want to buy the wrong size wheels
