OK, so not for a car for sure with 90 Watt?
Is there a way to check if it works?

If you have a working 6V generator, you can make a test circuit and turn the generator for example by drill machine. I test my generators and regulators that way.

The date code is on the other side above the Bosch logo, usually very hard to read. As I recall early Kübelwagens had a 90W generator but utilized a different style relay. From 1943 it looked liked this but generator was 130W, also for Schwimmwagen and KdF Type 92/82E. It may be that the KdF-Wagen Type 60 utilized the 90W generator and this relay? Check the date code on it.

That´s january 1943?
Would be good to know if that type was on a car.

Yes, it is January 1943.

Without checking I cannot say for sure but I am pretty certain the KdF-Wagen Type 60 uses the 90W generator and this is a regulator for it, correct for the KdF Type 60 1943-1944.

Worth it´s weight in gold maybe?

The 90W generator was used again in 1946-47 in the Type 11 Beetle and this regulator would work for on one too but the cover would have been with the cross pressing already.

Ok, so here is a question regarding SWF date codes. Among many ribbed SWF sems I have, I have an "IB" and an "MB". Despite the first page of this thread stating that "I" was not used (for year anyway), "I" is the month on my "IB" and it is Sept 1950. What is "MB", or what letter between I and M is skipped because if none were skipped then "M" is the 13th month of the year.

Sorry if this was covered previously in this thread, I didn't read all the posts.

I propose that "M" is December and "L" was skipped because it looks too much like an "I". Just a theory.....

Ok, scratch that theory, I am going through all of my sem pics and have found an "LD" that I restored years ago. So what is the missing letter???

Hi y’all,

I have this NOS Bosch round voltage regulator, the only code I can find on it is; RS/TB/130-150/6/1. Any info (date) for this one, is much appreciated! Wink

I'm used to this code:

The date code is on the other foot:

1K in this case

I see a pic with similar codes on the box in the Gallery but I don't have any close-up photos of the feet

Does your regulator have the rounded-off mounting feet?
If it's doesn't, it's not for a VW

Update, I found that part # RS/TB/130-150/6/1 listed as pre-A Porsche and some other models here on eBay:

Early distributors not really a code 3/55 for March 1955 for example. Later distributors do not have any date codes on them. Not sure on other components.

Thanks!! I found the ebay add, in my google searches, too... However, couldn’t find any 356 with a round Bosch voltage regulator though...

Couldn’t find any Bosch code, that would tell me the date, neither!

So still searching to find out what car it belongs to. Wink

It only wears a little 10 stamped at the body... and a big 1 on one other side...

any thoughts? Oh, badge is french...

I realize that this post is over 8 years old but it would be cool to see a picture of this distributors badge if it is indeed French and Bosch?

There wasn't anyone in quality control inspecting the date code stamps so sometimes they are missing the month or year stamp or are indistinct. The big "1" is the terminal designation for the through bolt.

The VJU 4 BR 8 was used on the Beetle from August 1954 until July 1960. The Ghia only used this distributor for a shorter period compared to the Beetle of August 1955 until July 1959.The Ghia received the new vacuum only distributors on a trial basis.

The round Bosch RS/TB 130..150/6/1 voltage regulator above is for a 1951 Mercedes 220. It matches to the LJ/GJH 130/6/2200 R 1 generator. It is listed in the 1952 Bosch parts book.

It also is for the 1952 Ford Taunus 12M, matched to the LJ/GE 130/6/2600 R 3 generator.
