I made this small video for engine sound reference, watch what happens when I pull the throttle the first time.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DQvT48d1aDU
The car's exhaust vent from not visible to whiteish smoke, it was sub zero centigrades outside though.
Any thoughts? The carb is a PICT30, the dist. is a 009, the timing, dwell, carb and idle has been set (by a first time noob, but still). The valves haven't been adjusted though. _________________ 1970 Beetle

Looks like you are not getting enough squirt from your accel pump. Could just be a clogged squirt jet or maybe an adjustment to the accel linkage or you might need a new diaphram.
To confirm, take the filter off, pull back the choke, and look down the carb to see if you have a healthy squirt......with engine off but a full float bowl. |

Seemed to me as though it popped back through the carb when you pulled on the throttle the first time. Makes me wonder about two things; valve adjustment and ignition timing. Adjust the valves first, then set the timing. See if that helps.... _________________ '64 Bahama Blue Beetle / steel sunroof
