Jim...800 miles would have been nice, it was 2000 + miles round trip. I've still got the car, will probably keep it and finish it someday, I'm sure it is worth more to me than anybody else.

Russ...I knew going in the Porsche engine would be expensive, I actually have everything to put it back together right, this car wouldn't be the same unless I put the Porsche engine back into it.

Just to close the loop on this car, in 2018 it was obtained in still unrestored condition minus its 356 engine by Tom Baker in California. Tom worked his magic and it's now restored to it's full original glory, including 356 power

man that looks amazing! Thank God someone took the time to bring it back to glory. It was so cool when the thread was first started I was hoping he wouldn't do anything to destroy it's character. It looks spectacular in it's goldflake once again.
