No, no. It was just like the set on German Ebay. Those could likely be the OE manufacturer.
Probably the same spec retractor as used in a Dasher, but different attachments, probably.

I bought a set that look identical to those from M&T here in the states. The German eBay ones have English lettering on the box if you look close. _________________ If you haven't bled on them, you haven't worked on them.

And that is exactly where I got my belts from Tom. M&T. |

I swapped in two Vanagon weekender seats, thinking I"d just leave them in while my OG seats get re-covered in the coming weeks.
I'm lying to myself. Those old seats will never be put back in this bus.
These Vanagon seats are life-changingly comfortable - it literally changes how it feels to drive my bus.
My ass and lower back are so happy.
I mean, armrests?!? fucking win. _________________ -------

Installed the Blaze Cut fire suppression system a month or so ago. I sure hope I never have to see how it works. _________________ -- JLT

I put these on all my rigs and old motorcycles that didnt come with an on-tank petcock. Weve had some vehicles up and down our quiet road end up going to Mexico late at night. One old hot rod builder down the street showed me a trick with these inline petcocks... One of his trucks was stolen but they only made it about 2 miles away from the house. He would put these under the hood, or within arms reach up inside the wheel wells and turn the gas off from there when he wasnt using the rig for a few days. (or his cars parked outside of his 10 car shop) Once the crooks died on the road, they obviously tried to figure out what was wrong with the truck, got irritated and ripped the plug wires and anything else out of the engine from frustration. Just like he said, "Id rather put everything back with my eyes closed than lose a vehicle to an idiot." So, I bought inline petcocks for my rigs, put them in random "hidden" places and turn them off when we head out of town for rodeos, camping trips, random times we wont be home to thwart thieves. Most of our rigs are parked in the back with the horses, goats, and dogs. I havent had any of my petcocks leak through the bodies, only clog up when old crud gets knocked loose and blocks them up. (motorcycles only so far)
I finally bought some door bushings to get my sliding door to close! Hoping to find a good write up on how to do that. I think before I replace them, Im going to bring those little buggers to work, Faro Arm them into a blueprint, and make a bunch of them! _________________ 2012 Tiguan 4motion

Today I tried out some new front seats for my 1974 Riviera - Bought them from Ebay - Rover 75 leather seats. Stripped off some of the track mechanism and they seem to fit well! Happy for a first look. Will probably need to make a simple few right angled brackets but that shouldn't be too hard...

I drove it to the store to get some beer all the while pretending to listen for rattles and weird noises. The 1st was a success and the later is always a reason to go for a drive. _________________ 1971 Tin Top Westy Campmobile 70 |

November 19th and it's still warm enough to drive the old bus. So I thought I would go burn a little more gas off before I put up for the winter. Without the choke turned on it took a few more minutes to get it up to temp and idling on it own but it still ran good after that.

Had the alternator (not the belt) and voltage regulator replaced.
Mechanic said the alternators for the 74 bay's can't handle charging two batteries (using a hella dual battery relay).
NOW has high breathy whine. Like maybe a vacuum leak? Took her back to the shop and they adjusted the belt tighter, then looser. Made no difference.
Also, had the linkage for the shift rod at the transmission replaced.
Now the bus is making all kinds of noise - sounds like from the shift rod.
Add that to the wine, and it's worrying me.
