I need something like that too. lately while I'm at a stoplight, the jackoff in front of me is just sitting there after it turns green. They get the horn and a couple birds, but I'd like to REALLY wake them up. Lol |
I tell you it gets frustrating when someone in front is texting or updating their facebook or who knows what else . preocuppied.. light turns green at a short light and i cannot go forward. It certainly wakes them up.
I did a write up on how to install it so click below :

Ah, waking the "sleep walkers". I like it.
Would be great to see some of the startled looks on the faces of the recipients. |
I will try to get some video footage with my dashcam and post the link .. lol _________________ My '64 Pan Meyers Manx Dune Buggy "Lady in Red"

Like, since November 10, 2014 at 2:00PM until March 24th at 3:00PM?
New door vapor barriers
New chrome door pulls and window cranks from JustKampers
New old stock interior and front door panels
Rebuilt and painted each vent window and massaged bent front ones
(new used glass frames from Belle Plaine (thanks Belle Plaine)]
New headliner (held together with hidden staples)
New transaxle from Rancho
New reverse light lens from TheBusCo (thanks Ken!)
New fusebox plastic cover
Re-arranged all dash wiring and waxed intake plenum
Repainted rocker panels with better-color-match worse-quality SW paint
Painted exhaust
Touched up windshield channel and all window channels
Rubbed out and waxed entire car inside and out for the first time
Replaced windshield with horrible chinese FW E-Z Scratch glass
Cleaned and lubricated every latch assembly in the car (painted sliding door latches)
Painted engine compartment ceiling
Re-adhered rubber matting on wheel wells and passenger footwells
Removed, cleaned and lubricated every cable on car + clutch lever at frame
R&C&L accelerator pedal and shifter assembly
Cleaned, rust-catalyzer primed and undercoated chassis
Painted and sealed fresh air doors, waxed intake area under screen
Polished and sealed all exterior light lenses
Polished all exterior glass with ten "5 Minute Glass Restorer polishing discs
Stripped off the stupid clearcoat, sanded down through all the scratches, color-sanded back up to 2000 grit, then polished emblem:
Detailed engine compartment:
Installed a JustKampers tachometer:
Repainted engine carrier and oil pump plate:
And somehow, I managed to stick an additional 4,000 miles on this poor car from November through March . . .
Anyways, we're ready for the 2015 25,000 mile Itinerary Odyssey #13

Wow, amskeptic... Well my update is quite pale in comparison, but exciting for me!
Took George out for his maiden voyage after lots of repairs.
Runs fantastic now, low clunky idle is fixed.
Can focus now on the ride, about to order new shocks and a sway bar _________________ ..."I live in my own little world. but it's ok, they know me here." -L. Myracle |

Me too . . . this car is brilliant at kicking my a$$ and making me do things three times over. Like the windshield. Like the transaxle. Like all three vent windows. Like this here oil pump plate that wants to leak now. The headliner should be redone because I don't trust those pathetic unravelling threads, but I do not have the energy any more.
The tragedy here is that I am driving all of my VWs into the ground. They will all need to be redone in 100,000 miles, just like we expected of VWs when they were new, but now the quality of replacement parts has me in a cold sweat.
Today's project?
Realign the front door hinges for a more Volkswageny feel.
Snug up aforementioned oil pump plate
Test oil pressure from cold to hot:

Gave my first little bit of personal TLC to the bus...

It felt good to do so, though I wonder if I should have used a cleaner that's a bit more powerful (along with a scrub brush)! _________________ 1970, Riviera, 1600 cc type I [single port] |

I wanted to replace the tar panels in my engine bay so I had planned on using the quick roof under the upholstery and will probably brush bedliner rust oleum in that space and will cover it neatly with the diamond plate aluminum.
If anyone wants to know the exact measurement is 40" x 24" and right at 12" is where you can fasten secure it with self tapping screws on the 1-1/4" Rails.

Just curious, do you think that will radiate heat and cause hotter running temps? _________________ 1976 Westy

I finally broke down and ordered a load of body panels for the old doublecab. Hopefully it will be back on the road for the first time in almost 35 years for my daughter's graduation in 2018. _________________ 1985 Diesel Jetta Coupe (temporarily retired at

I cut my own cab floor carpeting that i got from Lowes and used a torch to seal the edges so they don't fray. This is for my '69 Bay
It was simple to do .. just traced the old rubber mat onto the back side of the Runner Material from Lowes .. so the original rubber mat measures 57" L x 30" Wide
I suggest using a sharp pairing knife non serrated to cut the holes.. do not use a drill or circle maker because it will get the fibers caught up and damage the material.
I used the grey runner material because it is thicker but do not use the black runner carpet material because it is thin.

calipers rebuilt and installed. Now to find brake pads, hardware kit, refill the system and test. Got one more place to check locally for the pads. Got my fingers crossed things don't leak...
Need to build one of those diy brake fluid catches as well.

Topped off my steering box w/ gear oil and tightened up just a tad per the Bentley. Have to replace all four ball joints and at least both tie rods before I do too much more. _________________ 1977 Sage Green Deluxe Campmobile - "Turtel"
