I really like the electric blue vertical racing stripes. Really adds a contract to the bamboo _________________ My Bus Restoration Blog

That one of the "trimming up" things to do, but it is growing on me _________________ 71' Bus "Sunshine"

Pitbug - We're looking at doing something similar with bamboo for our headliner. Can you reveal any details about what you used and how you mounted it? Thanks! _________________ 1976 Transporter, Stock 2.0L

It comes in a kit ready to install from Jayson at Bamboomwagens.com

Really good guy to work with, each one is made to order so it may take 2-3 weeks, but well worth the wait... _________________ 71' Bus "Sunshine"

Got the first shipment of sheet metal for the old truck. Now if the snow would go away and the yard would dry up so I can get at it. Unfortunately they sent me the wrong lower nose (it will fit but I ordered the piece that goes up past the parking lights) and rear crossmember. The right ones are on their way.

New shocks on all 4 corners, replacing what appears to be the originals. (Havent found a receipt for any replacements in the po's receipt pile). Feels nice and solid now, debating if i will even need the HD sway bar we received with them...
New tunes installed -
Installed VDO tach -
Added a badge from my previous ride that was sacrificed in the name of a vw bus. Figure this will get some laughs -
Also added a passenger for when we set up camp...
On another note, came across a hood and trunk from what appears to be a 40's era sedan. Thinking of either making a smoker (load wood and fire in the trunk, pipe the smoke into the cooking chamber as the engine compartment, exit smoke with a set of pipes from my old harley) or turn it into a chair similar to this...

Installed drop spindles about two months ago and finally lowered the back to level and got rid of the "70's jacked up look." Came out to be 1 click outer 4 clicks inner = 5 degrees. |

Removed the entire steering steering column and gearbox. Disassembled it all and grit blasted it. Now I'm painting gearbox housing and will be re-assembling soon. |

Re-used parts. In the spirit of frugality, I wanted to make sure it's wasn't damaged as it was pretty scuzzy inside and out. So I disassembled, cleaned, grit blasted, general dimensioned, painted and rebuilt. Thankfully nothing was corrodedor worn beyond limits. The whole thing took me a day, quick and easy. |
