How easy does that sound material come off? It looks sticky.
I like the fresh original paint under there and wondered how easy this stuff would come off if someone wanted to reverse it.

it sticks very well, even just setting it in place before going over it with the roller it can be hard to pull up to adjust it. I would not want to have to pull it all out once it is rolled on. but hopefully it will make it a quieter ride and I wont want to pull it up _________________ '71 Westy - 1600cc

Found a little extra time between life today to work on my 69 Bus. Removed front wheels, inspected/cleaned brakes, removed/replaced the grease seals, cleaned and repacked the inner/outer bearings and installed a new speedo-cable. Spun her around the block and got the usual thumbs up! Got to love the VW life!

Decided the bus needed a dash mascot and girlfriend...
But this little gal is too generic for our taste. Lets break out the dremel and find that extra G.I. Joe accessory thats been sittin around.... Voila!
Business up front, party in the back!
Next up... Building my bamboo slat rack. _________________ ..."I live in my own little world. but it's ok, they know me here." -L. Myracle |

^^^^ that's great
Pretty much the finished project for the left side pipe hole. Only thing when it's final assembly time is the pipe will be painted probably silver and the gap in the trim will be hidden behind the pipe. But the pipe is mounted solid and the hole accommodates the pipe and trim. _________________ 77 westfalia vr6 project

What is the purpose of the pipe ? |

Much hilarity ensues, although it would be funnier if pipe guy were actually playing a joke on us. _________________ 2000 M Roadster

Today I took a drive up to Wyoming to do some camping with a fellow bus owner. I normally drive the bus up in the mountains so the mixture needs to be adjusted when driving in lower elevations. My table top was sitting on the rear cushion above the engine hatch so I removed it and set it outside the bus on the side of the road. After making my adjustments, I got back in the bus and proceeded to drive another hour and a half to our destination. Once I started to set up camp, I realized my table was still sitting on the side of the road 70 miles back. After expressing my anger through numerous curse words, I made the trip back only to find my table missing. I'm a dumbass. _________________ '77 Westy 2.0L FI

I laugh and cringe at the same time only because my dumb ass is personally familiar with similar scenarios.

Just finished the first stage of a solar install on our 79. Ton of fun [and a big thanks to Hodokaguy's schematics and build ideas!]. Used it at 40's in a bag the previous weekend and enjoyed running my fridge constantly and charging my I devices.
more photos and such at our dinky website, feel free to take a look. Also a video we took at 40's in a bag for any east coast folk that missed the show and wanted a glimpse.

I had the windshield and rear hatch window removed. Sanded down old rust on bottom edge of window seal. Prepping for brand new windshield install. Also, sanded down dash for repaint before installing window. Removed flaky rubber mat on seat pedestals. |

Put on a set of the new EMPI 2 inch drop spindles, lowered the rear 1 inch, cleaned and repainted my rims, added a set of beauty rings, polished the hubcaps....took it from ashy to classy....started last weekend and finished yesterday.. _________________ I own a copy of "The Car of the Century" by Garwood. Took george for an early morning drive over the pass to the silver state.
Had to get him registered in his new state.
Thank goodness it is a no smog county cuz we developed a huge exhaust leak on the drive...looks like a new exhaust is in our future. Any suggestions for vendors/sytems? Anybody with experience in a 2.0 L FI exhaust?
It could be worse - pulled up next to this guy belching beautiful green, sweet-smelling fluid... Air-cooled does have its benefits every once in a while!
