Yep, All with boxes. I dont think they were ever even used. This store had a whole collection of Avon bottles, the owner said someone donated boxes of this stuff. These were the only VW ones she had left.

Screw the engine on tight. Then pull off the engine and relocate on the splines to straighten it up. It's a common cap.

One of the most common collectible items from the early 70s. EVERYONE must have bought one for their dad that Christmas! Laughing And the aftershave was HORRIBLE!!!

There's also a rabbit that the front end is the cap.... Finding one in good condition is a pita though.

You don't like Wild Country Baron?

I picked up the rabbit over the summer at the local flea market. It's in nice shape, only the chrome foil decals for the window are all messed up.

I think my favorite has to be the bus though. You can't help but smile at the motorcycle on the back. Laughing

I found the rabbit at a local hole in the wall thrift/antique store still in the box. I have the black and red beetle that we found at an antique store. We bought the buggy off ebay, but it is missing the engine. I also have the bus, it was given to me from my parents my mom had bought it for my dad right after they were married. It is a joke around my family that my husband married me for my Avon Bus, since my mom told him he couldn't have it, while we were dating. Smile

The rarest vw avon that I have never been able to find is the mexico issued vw Taxi. Do any of you have one of those. I've only seen a picture of one in an old avon collectors book. They were white.

The only picture I have seen of the Mexican Avon Beetle shows it being clear with a white cap/rearend. I would love to find one of those....
