Best thread ever.
I found shopping lists, report cards, lots of maps of Hawaii, coins, etc.

In addition to the obligatory loose change, various nests, etc.. I found a Allentown PA fishing license from 1986, fan, pencils, and one plastic comb. In the hole for the sink drain, I found a lot of gravel and a metal disc which, based on the size, I think came from when the hole in the ceiling for the sink vent was cut.

I found a personalized licence plate that said "TYPE 2" on it.
Not old but cool none the less.
I'm sure there are more treasures to be found but they'll have to weat for the next tear down.

While cleaning out/gutting a 71 Devon I recently purchased. These were the finds at the end of the day.
The $10.00 bill and the unopened love letter were the favorites. So " Jared" she "wants answers!". _________________ 1979 Westfalia Deluxe http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=474334&highlight=iowa |

All I'd ever found in the many buses I've bought was wasps' nests, spiders and broken pens, but then when I was cleaning out my one PO 70 westy I bought last year I found a 1956 Hazet round tool box. Score! And just right for my 56 oval ragtop! _________________ fig

From the 1977 bus I brought home from Gilroy, CA. Original owner was from San Jose, CA...two quart cans of oil reminiscent of my childhood, a massive clutch assembly, small hand tools that I would never use, a really cool millimeter pocket tape measure with a Japanese garden brass relief/etching on one side of the case, matchbooks from fine dining in San Francisco, Hit Parader and Song Hits magazines from 1956, a hot rod magazine from 1955 missing its cover, a 12 volt trouble light, an ancient can of fix a flat, a bejeweled cigarette case like the elderly women in my family used to have, seventy gazillion pounds of mouse turds, ruined Champagne Edition carpeting...two Lobro CV joints which turned out to be used, the original jack and wrench and the Owner's manuals.
The bus was also once equipped with a CB Radio system and it has fog lights that don't work.

Lighter and roach, some hardware, and the best... a receipt from a campground in Wyoming from 1986 and has the (presumably)original owners name and address.
