Just noticed some tiny oil droplets in the coolant tank, but there
doesn't appear to be any coolant in the engine oil. I've heard that the small factory oil cooler can do this if it fails internally. Any ideas? (no smoke frome tailpipe, car starts and runs great all day long).

Usng about 40 to 80 PSI using a air compresser pressurerize your cylinder one at a time

use caution the pistion shoud be in the stroke down position in the cylinder before performing this test you can check it by removing all of the spark plugs and using a small wooden dowel rod about 10 inch long be postitive to tape some string on it and tie it to something if it too short so if you drop it you can get it back out.

hook up the air compresser open the raditor cap when the cylinder is pressurerized and look for bubbles... in the radiator .....Hint if you see any you have a leak path.. more than likely head gasket... good hunting and good luck I hope you dont find any....

had this problem for years an irish guy from roseville here on the samba said it was the oil cooler the one under the oil filter. got a used one from him with some other stuff i hauled off for him replaced it and sure as hell not one drop of oil in the coolant. Id replaced the headset and everything still had oil in the water. he said it was a common problem with the oil cooler....
