I used to see a silver Westy around town being driven by a black guy and met him once. He loved the thing. Tonight I was exploring over the county line and spotted a dark blue hardtop at the next corner. Stopped to speak and it was the same guy. He'd sold his Westy for a nice profit and bought this blue '90 hardtop. Said his nephew had seen it parked long term in an industrial area and told him about it. Perfect interior but peeling clearcoat, alloys, $1000. He also seems very happy with this one. _________________ '87 Westy in Wolfram Grey Metallic |

Saw 2 Westys within a mile of each other driving around within an hour. Nice late model and a clean Aircooler. I guess I notice more now |

[quote="peaceful warrior"]Spotted this gnarly rig at the Plaza in Taos, NM. I was at a friends shop but was driving my Audi and not the Syncro.
Nice rig, but did not find the owner. Plated from Colorado.
[/quote
Turns out that is a local rig as well. Very nice longtime Taos couple. |

What i haven't seen is any Vanagon's, I guess living in the PNW, makes me expect to see some Vanagon's.
Visiting friends/family in N.H., and Connecticut, I miss the cold and snow of New England. I am hoping to move back home, and bring my Van w/ me someday in near future.
So are their any locals driving around this Christmas/New Years week? I am looking for you.

Keep an eye
out for this one......
I'm mostly around western MA, but could end up anywhere in New England. Not many of us drive nice Vanagons in the salt, this one is being driven year round to test out my conversion in all climates/conditions.

Taking the dog to Bryan Park late Saturday I spotted this one on Belleview Avenue, so swung by after her run for this pic.

Highway 101, Ventura, approx. 700pm, Syncro Camper, HEAVILY LOADED DOWN in the slow lane. Looks like they had been in Mexico and headed home. Lots of road dust, dirt and mud. It was dark, so color was difficult to see (maybe tan?), had black across bottom. We double honked and waved in MB wagon as we passed...
We need an OFFICIAL FORUM HANDSHAKE as we pass on the road, how about about a quick double honk? _________________ '65 T1 Sedan

Don't have a picture but about a week ago around 3pm I was driving down International Speedway Blvd in Daytona Beach and saw a beautiful two-tone blue & white Westy that had stuff loaded all over it, looked like they had a house generator hanging off the back also a few bikes hahaha heading for I-95 so they were probably on vacation, van certainly stuck out with stickers all over it. |

This Syncro passed us while traveling down I-15 in Utah on Tuesday on our way to Baja. We found it at the Smiths gas station in St George when we pulled in. Turned out it was Bob from SLC on his way mountain biking.
I pulled up next to it and took this photo of Bob's Syncro next to our Baja setup. My Westy is in the garage at home for the winter.

Yes, that is quite a familiar sight for me, kinda like a replay of a really bad dream DAS 4X4
Have a great trip to the Baja Rich and Penny. Looking good, except for the lack of your Weekender, but, you get a pass because you have such an ambient trailer in tow.

My wife and I are visiting friends in Fort Benning, and driving through the Officers Housing, we saw a nice red(ish) tin top with a safari rack. We left a poker chip. _________________ 1990 Feldjäger Syncro AAZ

Saw this one from I-65 North in Nashville Friday parked at "Euro Fix" garage. I got off the highway to see it up close and it's beauty. Maybe someone here on the Samba owns her. I notice it was unlocked. Bad move on the garage's part, Sorry for the bad phone picture.

My wife and I are still traveling, and we see a few now and again.
Outside Hartley, Texas (35.873439,-102.36289) sits a nice Wolfsburg Edition. The motor is blown and the guy wants $1000 for it.
Also, between Denver and Colorado Springs, we saw a cream colored Westy headed south. _________________ 1990 Feldjäger Syncro AAZ

It was really nice. The front marker/turn signa lenses were blacked out. I'm hoping to meet the owner to get a look at it... _________________ '82 Vanagon GL with 2.0 4-speed. Long term plan is to turn it into a camper. |

If I don't see 10-15 vanagons ranging from beater tintops to fully decked out syncro westys on a daily basis I'm shocked. These things are absolutely everywhere!! Gotta love good old Bellingham _________________ '88 vanagon*****'91 gti 1.8t*****'04 r32*****'11 suburban z71 |
