Spent 3 weeks in Czech and Slovakia and only saw 2 Vanagons. This one in Prague and another in a small town went past me on the back of a flatbed tow truck.

No pics, but I saw a gold Westy with So African Grill in Westport MA today.
Later in the day a White Eurovan camper pulling a rugged looking pop-top trailer (diamond plate up front storage box ) - black and silver, with a kayak on top it.
Was probably camped at Horseneck Beach Reservation state campground.
Sound familiar to anyone? |
A very similar EV almost got t boned as they took a left on 16 south of conway over the weekend... |

Coming back to Idaho from the peninsula I saw no less than 12 westies coming down hwy 20 north cascades into Burlington.
I saw a white one and tan one. A tin top that looked like it might have been monstalinered. A yellow original paint one with a big lift or a syncro conversion then a dark grey one another yellow original paint one that was 2wd. They were everywhere.
I was the lone white syncro going up hwy 20. |

Spotted this outside of Asheville NC the other day. I swear you could see the bike puffing exhaust smoke every time they went up a hill.

I saw that one in an alley in Five Points on my bike ride home one day a few months back. I think it was for sale recently? Good to see that it's still kickin'! _________________ Joe T.

While driving around out in the country I went just a little farther down the road to find a turnaround spot and saw this one. Looks like it's been sitting a few weeks, so I might go back and ask about it. It has the groovy diagonal-striped interior and is in very nice shape.

Stopped off at a small overlook just into Utah and what should roll up? Jay from Greely, CO en route to Las Vegas.

Driving up from the Bay Area to Tahoe on a Fri for a Sat. MTB race I counted
TWENTY FIVE (25)
Two Bays, and a fairly even split tween Vanagons and EVs. Mostly campers, but a few tin tops as well.
It was like a rolling VW show, except for the preponderance of EVs. |

Organizing photos, I found a few from the last several months I'd not shared yet:

I saw two on Saturday on the same stretch of interstate, and then another the next day, which is unheard of in this area. One nice white westy and a brown one with SA grill pulling a trailer full of kayaks heading west on I24 west of Chattanooga. I saw the third late last night while stuck in construction traffic near the Cleveland, TN exit on I75 west. Nice, white 2wd westy with a lift, rear mounted spare tire and fuel can. I was in my white 91 carat headed to camp near the Ocoee river, and came back with a big yellow canoe on the roof rack. _________________ '91 Vanagon Carat

Saw this westy while getting gas, it drove past me, as I was driving out of the parking lot they pulled up and parked at a store nearby, I talked to them, turns out it was a rental from California campers. I was still stoked to see another westy.
