has anyone ran this combo on their lowered bug without rubbing issues?
I have a 69 that ive been doing a resto on and bought some empi 8 spokes from the 80's that were on my friends 914 and installed 2.5 drop spindles, and adjustable beam. I'm getting ready to put the body on the frame.
I want to lower this car as much as possible but dont want to tear up my fenders.

go with a 175x55.
The 195x 45's are wide and you almost have to be tucking a narrowed beam for them to look right. _________________ GFK

I ran 195/50 R15 on my 66 with no rubbing issues. It had 21/2 drop spindels and adj. beam.

Cool. I forgot to mention that they were disc brake spindles. I might look into the narrower tire on the front.
Thanks guys. Really sharp looking bug. |

I havent bought tires yet. The tires on the front now are 195 60's I believe. I measured the width of the front end with wheels Vs. the rear part of the car and the front is a little over 2" wider than the rear.
I think I'm just gonna buy a narrowed beam and do it right so I can run a little fatter tire since the car is turbo and I'm used to sporting 80's bmws thru the winding roads. |
