Although I don´t appreciate much the tunning thing you´re
planning to do to the Miesen, I think you´re doing a nice job with
the body.
Here you have a photo where you can see the original chromed
front bumper.
Photo taken around 1996 just before I bought the bus.

The raised part of the bumper (especially under the door) looks to be painted white to me _________________

The photo may not be sharp enough but I can assure you
that the bumper was chromed (saw it with my own eyes).
The iron was almost gone it was mostly chrome that was
left on the bumper. I removed it with my hands not
needing a srew drive. |

dennis and i are installing the gearbox at the moment.
freshly redone, thanks tom!
we had some trubble with the mounting plate for the gearbox..
but dennis did some welding to it (not finished )
now the gearbox fits, but it looks like it is more backwards then before..
is that normal??

mine looked like that before I took it all out. I don't think it can be fixed without moving the mounts forward. Everything worked fine, but there were some big gaps where the tin met the engine bay sheet metal. |

Do you have the shift rod in place yet? Does the hockey stick line up with the shift rod ok? I ask because your adapter bracket looks to have different bolt spacing from mine:
Also, how thick is your adapter bracket? It looks like it might be a bit thick. Mine in place:
Do the rear gearbox mounts look like they've 'pulled' when you did the 2 large bolts up in the frame horns? _________________

yes, we had a little gap between the horns and the mounts about 1cm i guess but as we put the bolts in, the gap was closed.
scotty, does your gearbox sit the same like mine in the rearend? _________________ GermanRestoKommando
