Last night, I ordered ACI front disc brakes from So Cal Imports, 15x5.5 chromies from Mid-America Motorworks, Yokohama Geolander A/T-S 205/70-15 tires from Tire Rack, and a curtain bag from The Thing Shop. My front porch will soon be loading up. Cool

Oh, and the weather was nice enough for me to take it on some errand hopping. (I also want to take a look at the status and size of my spare tire.)

I finished up the breaks to find a hose about to split while bleeding the system. Waiting on parts for that, I disassembled my back seats for new covers.

TO DO LIST:
finish breaks
cv boots
seat covers
engine tune up

Trying to get everything done by the end of May!

Everything came. Installation scheduled for first week in May.

Learned two things which probably should go in the h2o forum -- the brake kit weighs 66 lbs and triggers the fasten seat belt warning when placed in the front passenger seat of my Eos, and the audible warning stops after the second or third notification. Rolling Eyes

Next: Having relatives over for Easter. Will conscript a couple of male members to help get the hardtop off Thing and onto its rolling cart. Cool

Saturday I installed my new Thing Shop top that the wife had gotten me for Christmas!

Her first reaction was to say that now she thinks that I *should* get the new glass side curtains too!

Also replaced a bunch of missing body and hinge caps, and lubed up all the doors.

well little over week off here

my oldest was in from college for Easter weekend. He and the youngest and I took a day cruise then followed up with night time cruise to local Nifty Fifties Cruise-In.

We had a great time hanging with all the American classic iron, hot rodders, rat rodders and all walks of custom cars.

couple pics of happy driver and co-pilot.

Sad to hear about the loss. We have been in funeral processions for other VW enthusiasts before. Very sad times. Our prayers are with the families and friends.

no pictures at moment

installed a small 2 channel Kicker amp under the rear seat opposite of battery. it is small enough to mount vertically. it is out of the way. quick easy wiring to rear speakers. I wanted to add some more sound to the rear speakers for driving times.

easy install, took a little bit to figure out settings on head unit. it was pushing as woofer. i was missing my mid and tweeters in my rear 6 x 9's.

all figured, now just some minor tuning on sound.

We just took the "People's Chose Award" today at a car show in Apple Valley today. We did not think we were going to get anything because all the trophies had been given out except for the last BIG one when they called my name. All the people said they just loved that little car. Had a great time and all the work I have been doing paid off.

Now I don't need to install an amp to hear my tunes. Waiting on front discs from ac. Net and gotta mount aux oil cooler
