I am installing the feed/return oil lines to my turbo and need to know if the paper gaskets should go on dry or should i use a thin layer of silicone gasket sealer?

thanks

This layer of sealant usually does the trick, but if everything is super clean and straight, you could probably only use the paper.

I don't use a flange type connection on the feed, I use a screw in (I think it's pipe thread) connection. For return you usually have to use the flange, but I've always been paranoid about leaks on the feed so I use a solid metal line there. Carquest made the lines I have right now, but sooner or later I'll get back to Hotrodvw about making a nice set of braided stuff. Laughing

I use a braided feed line as my turbo moves a bit when the header expands and contracts.

Vw uses the flange connections on the 1.8T models and I hardly ever see them leak, you can usually even reuse the old gaskets, there is nothing wrong with this setup.
