I feel like you have 2 to 3 times the amount of wires I have under my hood. Shesh, looks like a complicated job. _________________ 1967 Baja Owner |

Not to hijack but I have seen those shifters several times... They have a little loop thing... Persumably to put your fingers?
If so wouldn't that be dangerous in a crash or possibly even a hard bump? |

Lol ya it is over engineered Its all the lights and all the gauges im going to add.
my brake light is also my blinkers . on the front my blinkers double as corner lights. my head light and tail lights and dash lights are on one switch but have separate fuses and activated by relays.
Each switch activates a relay that way operating current is not running threw a little switch. less likely for switch failure due to over heating.
The thing i like is the bus bar it makes trouble shooting any system failures on the trail quick and easy.
The best part is there is no electrical tape used in this car all zipties and heat shrink. _________________ www.theworldinmymind.com

It was go time
I hit a rock on the way up the hill smashing my front break caliper lost breaks didn't now it got all most over the top missed a shift in to 1st. hit breaks to stop from rolling back wards Nothan started rolling back could not get it in first or reverse to use the clutch to stop. then the next thing i know is we are upside down in the air toubling down a hill.
after math
new door fix roof rack and new rear trailing arm and and new front breaks _________________ www.theworldinmymind.com

Cage seems to have done its job pretty well! Glad nobody was hurt... Funny how long it takes to build a cage... but when you actually use it... you remember it forever!! Sorry to hear it... _________________ my build:

| Just curious I see in the other pictures that you have the master cylinder with the divided tank. Did the rear brakes suck air also? What was the 2nd failure that let the rear breaks failing? I have the divide tank like most every body and we tell ourselves that we are ok if we lose a brake or line the tank will only let the front or rear fail not both |

That was my understanding but apparently
the master cylinder was a little over a year old?
" dual master cylinder both pistons are linked by stroke limiting screw so mechanical pressure is exerted on front piston if rear portion of cylinder/system fails. The front system acts as a "single" piston master cylinder for 1/2 brake system... If front cylinder/system fails, rear plunger doesn't care once front plunger bottoms out... "
Maybe my front plunger wasnt bottoming out?
When i take it all apart i will have to see what went wrong with the master cylinder. _________________ www.theworldinmymind.com

Your car may be a bit busted-up, but at least nobody got hurt. Cages are more than just handles to upright your car, they enable you to be in the group lifting All things considered, was the trip OK other than that? |

| Rebuild?!?! What the heck for? Just replace the door and hood and cut out the sections of the roof rack that got bent and fix it up. The rest just call battle scares. OR are you just one of those guys who would rather work on a car that they never actually really drive? |
