My not too long ago might not be the same as your not too long ago.

You are thinking of when the previous owner was selling it many years ago and before a ton of work was done to it.

Its a very nice, honest car. I won't comment on the value or asking price but I don't know of a nicer original car.

I'd love if this car sold for its asking price. All it would do is support the value of the best engineered VW ever made; the Type 3.

Applause

You said the magic words Mr. Barnes, a ton of work has been done, so NOT original. Maybe it looks nice, but I still disagree on 31K. Me, being a type 3 owner would love for type 3's to appreciate.

I don't know... I would still call it "original" as long as it was clear the interior has been redone. At least it's didn't get redone in leather like my old '63 Notch. Smile

Everything else in the ad sounds like normal work to me.

Look how clean that rear end is:

Let's agree that it is indeed a very nice car, but it is no immaculate example of an unrestored type 3.

I bought a 72 in far better condition for $300.

$1k for $200 in parts is a bit of wishful thinking. Rolling Eyes

I would totally agree with that.

If it seemed like I was trying to argue, that was not my intent.

That is quite high.

Side markers don't attach with machine screws and nuts like that, they attach with sheet-metal type screws.
I am concerned they may have enlarged the normal mounting holes as those screws look larger in diameter than the stock mounting screws to my eye.

I saw this ad earlier and just shook my head...this ad is the very definition of 'wishful thinking'. Rolling Eyes

NOS side markers are usually ~$225 shipped on the high side.

But those have been "Customized" according to Everett.
That alone makes them worth just that much more.... Laughing

On the up side, if those are the correct bulbs and they work, that is a few bucks.

It's a '64 or maybe even a '65. My guess is that it's probably a '64 built after 1. August 1963, which is the beginning date of the '64 model year.

http://bugnet.de/markt/marktbild.pl?186049

And this is toooo much in my opinion for a 66 N model... With shit rims and the ugly sunvisor.... WTF

Updated NOW... Very Happy
