It was for sale here a couple of days ago, the ad has been taken off. _________________ I'd be UNSTOPPABLE if not for Law Enforcement and PHYSICS.

It's not "NOS" - it's a contemporary version of the old Empi bar. I know because I have the exact same bar on my '56 Ghia and '63 T34 _________________ -Thom

Almost every time an ad states "rare", it's not...and the price is 4X's what it should be. |
Yeah, his type 4 NOS muffler is about 3X what I paid for an NOS 1 from New York.
Is it just me, or have parts prices been going up so much that you're almost better off looking at new parts? It just seems like most of the VW prices are becoming more in line with Porsche prices.
Might be time to buy a Honda or a Toyota. |
Here's an example of what I'd call a "hard to find" part-but definitely not *rare*, especially given that there are two in the classifieds:
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1318751
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1718986
"Rarest of the rare" rarely yields multiple offerings...
The only rare thing about this part is the person who is willing to pay these prices for one. |

Yeah, those are rare like the front grill found toward the beginning of this thread. Just because it's rare, doesn't mean it's desired. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Here's one that been in the classifieds for almost 6 years. Joe has made it here a few times with some of his overpriced crap. If you look through his ads, you'll find some that are 10+ years old.

I recall these dealer replacement manuals being about $30-$35 years ago.
I don't know if the price has changed much. _________________ How to Post Photos

Jacin had a hood handle on his beautiful early Notch at the Type 3 Rally. I had never seen one installed that I recall. I really liked it and would consider bolting one on if I ever came across one (that I could afford). _________________ Rick Christensen

Just like the fog lights...
I don't see the appeal at $400. I think it takes away from the original lines of the car. |
