I guess I was thinking that in addition to the model being mis-named, the price, the apparent condition, the "fuel injection needs to be replaced, was always a reliable driver prior to injection going" statement, the lack of further pictures, the fact that it is actually "the wikipedia car", etc. all adds up to a Think for me. Perhaps I'm just a bit suspicious by nature?

IDK- it's not screaming 'scam ad' to me- the price is about right for what it is with the defects, and, well, some car or another has to be the Wikipedia car!

What did you pay for yours? Wasn't it close to that condition and price? It wasn't a scam, now, was... ah, never mind. Wink Laughing

FYI, just for fun, I wrote to this guy TWICE (on 10/15 and about 2 weeks ago) and as of today, still no response. I still think something smells...

No, not really. He seemed to like being able to tune them, find parts, and buy them cheap.

That's what I figured... just a typical VW flake, not a scammer. A scammer would have taken "deposits" on this thing left and right.

That car has been on the market for a long time. I wonder if people are just scared of the Colombia angle or what?

If I had to guess I would say that would be a big reason why it hasn't sold

Can't even lift it out of the leaf pile for the pic? Oh yeah, that would cost me $10 an hour for that work!

Hey, the price is right.

Honestly if I had the money and the space, I would be tempted to do a fly and drive back from Bogota. That would be an awesome road trip. Very Happy
