I guess I was thinking that in addition to the model being mis-named, the price, the apparent condition, the "fuel injection needs to be replaced, was always a reliable driver prior to injection going" statement, the lack of further pictures, the fact that it is actually "the wikipedia car", etc. all adds up to a for me. Perhaps I'm just a bit suspicious by nature? |
IDK- it's not screaming 'scam ad' to me- the price is about right for what it is with the defects, and, well, some car or another has to be the Wikipedia car!
What did you pay for yours? Wasn't it close to that condition and price? It wasn't a scam, now, was... ah, never mind. |
FYI, just for fun, I wrote to this guy TWICE (on 10/15 and about 2 weeks ago) and as of today, still no response. I still think something smells...

No, not really. He seemed to like being able to tune them, find parts, and buy them cheap. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

That's what I figured... just a typical VW flake, not a scammer. A scammer would have taken "deposits" on this thing left and right. _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

I recycle old cars and parts, other than when I rot, that's as Green as I am going to get.
Thanks to my Tesla driving neighbors, I feel more relaxed driving my SUBURBAN and old VW's.

That car has been on the market for a long time. I wonder if people are just scared of the Colombia angle or what? _________________ 1965 Volkswagen 1500 Variant S

Yeah and its in Bogota which is about 8600 ft above seal level in the middle of the country. Getting it to a port to export we be an adventure in itself |
Honestly if I had the money and the space, I would be tempted to do a fly and drive back from Bogota. That would be an awesome road trip. _________________ 1965 Volkswagen 1500 Variant S
