Here is a question that I have always been confused about. I get a lot of mixed info on this one:
What is the correct fuel pump and carb set up for my early 53 25hp engine rebuild? I'm really looking for info on the size of the fuel line. I've heard 6mm vs. 8mm although I thought 8 mm ones were for the earlier 25hp engines. My engine is correct for 53 zwitter production dates. I have a solex 28 PIC carb. Would this work for my engine? Any ideas? Thanks in advance

It started with the Zwitter. October 1st, '52. Both the 6mm line and the 28 PCI carb. Not sure about the pump. _________________ CH3NO2.

28 PCI carb for a zwitter doesnt have the vacuum line port, the fuel pump looks like a flat top 8mm but its 6mm, they are both uncommon, rare? depends on who you ask, only hard to find if you really need one _________________ There is an idea of a Billmetric; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. And though I can hide my cold gaze, and you can shake my hand and feel flesh gripping yours and maybe you can even sense our lifestyles are probably comparable... I simply am not there... |

What would be correct for a zwitter? 8mm or 6mm fuel pump? While tearing down the engine on an January 53 zwitter the fuel pump removed was 8mm. I was told 8mm was incorrect and thought of selling the pump and buy a 6mm but want to make sure before i do knowing how hard it is to find them. _________________ 1956 Oval Window Rag

6mm is correct for a Zwitter.... Zwitters had 28PCI carbs with no vacuum lines and only took 6mm fuel line. _________________ Even my nuts are plated.....

Yes. If it's 8mm it's split, if it 6mm it's zwitter -'53. _________________ Chris |
