I can only confess that I have only been able to dream about the Beetle I do not have yet.

I don't use this word loosely, because I know it's power...but this engine is Ridiculous!

Nice job Brian

Replaced the (3) fuel lines. Moved the fuel filter to the front (under the tank), figured it would be a good location so I could replace the fuel filter and check the brake fluid at the same time. Also added a shut-off valve.

I finally got my 1959 european standard to the Belgian MOT this morning.
The staff looked very surprised as I explained the car was equiped with cable brakes! Must be a new generation of technicians Cool not in the know of the automobile ancestors!
After hearing that information, they didn't mention a minor difference in brake capacity between the left and right front brakes...
And I got all the documents to order my oldtimer licenseplates "American Style" (small square licenseplate also called Motorcycle licenceplate)

Replaced 4 shock absorbers (dampers) and installed caster shims....huge difference in freeway and local street ride qualities.

I adjusted the steering gear box. Thee was way too much play in the steering going down the road. It took about a 1/4 of a turn to get 90% of the slack out but it seems to be doing just fine now.

spent 15 minutes to add 2 washers to my bowdin (?) tube - 100 percent solved my awful shudder / chatter problem....what a xc#4/& that condition was...

Reinforced the old lesson: fix the easy stuff first...

Installed a set of CB Performance dropped spindles on the wife's Kabriolett and re-indexed the rear end to sit 3-1/2" lower

Replaced the sealed beam headlights on my '64 sedan w/H4 compatible assemblies using H2 bulbs. Reassembled the bucket w/the correct rubber seals for the lens and the chrome ring-to-body seal. Also installed amber parking bulbs.

I added an important safety warning sticker to my glovebox door:

"CAUTION: Do not lower windows at speeds in excess of 200 m.p.h."

I replaced the broken cheaply made aftermarket driver-side window crank with an OEM crank. What a difference!

I also discover why my right headlight will not adjust. The tension spring is missing. I wonder how people manage to leave these out. That is short of breaking one and never replacing it.

Trying to get her back together.. Still learning a lot and fumbling through the work.

The Rear Disks need to be torqued... A new Pitman arm is on order because the inner tie rod is seized into it... I will work on getting it out later...

In the mean time... I have A LOT to do!!!
