I launched my '59 standard ragtop to 105kmh
As the installed 28PICT was completely worn out, I got only 80kmh on the speedometer. Now our old 30hp is again in good shape!!

Installed a Sirius Sportster satellite receiver. It sounds great even with only mono sound out of the one speaker.

1961 Swedish Barn Find

* Mounted the Firestone 5.60-15 wide white cross plys
* Installed the repro Alberts
* Valve clearance
* Oil service
* Drained the tranny
* New fuel lines
* New battery

Cranked it over and she came to life! Been off the road since '85. Getting there slowly.

I haven't been on for awhile so I'll catch up real quick. I have a '59 beetle, I pulled tired old motor and rebuilt a 1600 dual port and installed back in car. Converted car from six volt to twelve volt. Today I just ordered complete interior kit and window seals. Now I'm going to go fix a leaking brake line.

Brick wall my 63 has been sitting for a few months because I got so pissed dealing with getting the timing together. Today's a new day. I really want to drive it to the Mother Lode on the 26th. We'll see.

I am pulling one torsion bar from the top and the bottom of my '61 to suck up the wheel well in front before I sell him. Also put in my NOS 6 wire SWF turn signal, can't understand why I waited so long. Nothing better than NOS, I also trashed the aftermarket piece of shit I had on for three years. I also decided to give the '61 a big hug for being a great sport for the last 53 years of his life. I want to be sure he gets at least another 50. So I can rationalize the $900 I put in for a complete new brake system, reservoir to wheel cylinders, shocks, reserve switch on the tank, made my own plastic washer for the steering column. He drives nice and will really miss him when he's gone. Who ever gets him will be a "Happy Dubber". Matching numbers 1200cc putter.

I was able to finish up my "convertible" deck lid for my 67. I acquired a 70 deck lid for $20. A lot of cutting, welding and shaping later and it is in. I was also able to take the rain catcher and cut it and weld in to fit the double snout air cleaner. Yay! I saved the og paint lid for whenever I want to switch back. I'm waiting on the paint to cure so I can fade it out to better match the rest of the car.

I mounted one of those hump baskets with the built-in cup holders. I keep knocking it over with my right leg. Seems to be a waist of money.

I had put a fuel gauge on my 61, and finally ran out of gas today after 3 weekends of driving so that now can adjust the float!
