I have two bugs - Stute the wonder bug (body off resto)and The Madonna (daily driver).
Madonna: Adjusted brakes and fixed emergency brake, and installed new foot well heater cables on the madonna. The passenger side footwell flap pin was missing - so. . . I fabricated one from the old heater cables.

Stute: walked by the pan several times and contemplated bed liner for the bottom.

Then into the kitchen to make oyster stew. Aaahhhhhh, the smell of shop grease in the day and good cookin' in the evening.

Installed a crazy 8ball shifter knob. Put beads in the tires to balance them. Replaced turn signal lever and headlights.

My '66 Sedan is getting a new trunk seal installed, brakes adjusted, heater box worked on and heater control cables adjusted, new parking brake boot installed, driver seat adjustment repaired, new fuel filter installed outside of engine compartment, installing all new chrome bumper bolts along with front and rear reinforcement brackets. Last but not least, having the oil bath air cleaner serviced.

All being done by my new friend and VW service man hoghead5150.

After a little over a year of threats and promises I finally moved the fuel filter outside of the engine compartment. Huzzah!

Just switched out my OG shifter for a Scat shifter. I must say... very simple install and every gear works just fine so far.

Also removed my front bumper cause a piece wore out and scratched my paint. A little mad about that!

Well, not my Beetle but the wife's 65 sedan:
* replaced wiper blades
* replaced ignition switch (old one was sticking)
* replaced steering wheel
* fixed the horn sothat it actually works. Had to figure out the wiring mess created by the p.o.
* figured out that the brake lines from the reservoir to the mc need replacing.....at least I think they do considering the new puddle of fluid on the driveway.
* replaced the ratty sun visors and installed new clips.

It was a good day working on her car, Greta.

Replaced my metal fuel line, not fun btw. In the process i snapped off my side view mirror with a careless placement of an elbow. Also, after 7 years my 6volt diehard died...waiting on an optimum...

Finally removed the left rear fender after years of procrastinating, to take it to a body shop to be resprayed, and discovered a 6"x1" patch of rust hiding on the body behind the fender. Sad

So took the entire car to the shop to have the fender resprayed and the body rust repaired and repainted.

On the plus side, the paint I thought was original on the rear left quarter panel is not so according to the body shop, so I won't feel so bad about their respraying the quarter panel. Confused

Got the emergency flasher on my 66 sedan it work. Not sure why, but it's so cool watching that little red knob light up.

Also hooked up the Sapphire III radio. I now can get about 8 spanish language, 4 Asian language and 2 sports channels in all their AM radio glory!

You reminded me that ever since I was a little kid there was something I really liked about watching the directional indicator flash on the dashboard. I can't say what it is, just that it was comforting to a little kid riding in a dark car to see that little green arrow blinking and clicking. Still works for me.
