Looked at more parts to buy myself for my birthday, namely quarter panels and hinge pillars. Talk about grand plans for my 21rst..

Finally got around to checking the trans grease and it was OK. Remounted the external full-flow oil filter to a better place under left rear fender. Re-plumbed new high-pressure oil lines to the filter, after an old line failed (at 65MPH), and lost about 90% of the oil!!! |

Drove 85 miles to Buffalo, NY from Erie, PA and bought a set of 67 bumpers a little rough but restoreable and got a set of 67 tail lights with one housing and a fuse box cove undamaged. All for $50.00 _________________ Look off in the distance it's a bird it's a plane no it's a frog no it's just little old me Underdog65 and my Sweetpolly passing your way. |

Started replacing the sheet metal tinware screw driver bolts with allen wrench socket heads. I don't know why, but the machinist in me prefers the socket heads. |

Used the tread on building and electric windshield washer system for a 6 volt system using the original wiper washer button as actuator. Works well I got a 6 to 9 volt pump still have to drilled and silicone it in to the original tank plumb in the lines good. I'm going to used old line coming out of cap as vent. _________________ Look off in the distance it's a bird it's a plane no it's a frog no it's just little old me Underdog65 and my Sweetpolly passing your way. |

I bought this '65 not long ago and will be posting more pictures of it soon.
Since this specific year has those neat looking parking lights in the front, the bug looks super mean in the night time and my coworkers gave me the sweet idea of hooking up some fog machines to make look even meaner.
Looks like i'll have to look for where the fog would be released from if I were to hook some up.

This morning I machined up a pin with 1/16" hole for cotter pin, to connect the accel cable to gas pedal, after the #$:^ing nut and screw fell off yet again yesterday... _________________ 1965 Type 1 sunroof Baja / about 70k miles on self-rebuilt '74 1600 and counting / SP heads and aftermarket valve keepers / non-doghouse shroud with external cooler and filter / 1.5 qt extended sump / Weber 32/36 DFAV progressive carb / 009 dist with Pertronix / 1.25 ratio rockers and ball adjusters / 1.5" stainless steel J-pipes and carbon steel baja exhaust |
