My '67 Beetle had a gash on one tire so one new "KUMHO POWER STAR 758" 165/80R 15 and a good as new spare tire went on the front, best two out of three to the rear and leftover to the spare rim...which does not balance.
DISCOUNT TIRE in Kennesaw, GA lets me assist with jack points and such and I think the young fellas really liked working in an old car.
They have the balancing jigs that fit but, balked at 19psi fronts and 27 psi rears until I showed them the sticker inside the glove box door..I run 20 front and 28 rear and they were happy to oblige.
She's steppin' now!

Installed old school GPS. Mounted by simply removing ash tray knob and replaced with chrome cap nut. Completely reversible. Not terribly reliable since the metal dash wreaks havoc on the magnet in the compass!

Started sanding my vert decklid so I can paint it to match my car. I am thrilled I was able to find one in my price range in town! It just needs a tiny bit of work, and is pretty much the most complete vert lid I have ever seen. Inside is original paint, some shade of green. Almost looks like Beryl green, which is funny since that was my car's original color. I will be painting it black.

Spent the day attaching my rear bumper with bolts instead of 1/4 "sheet metal screws both side bumper brackets held in place with screws captured nuts gone in bracket . I used a capture but used to build furniture drill through to inside welded the insert in from the back side then tightend the bolts down everything now solid . _________________ Look off in the distance it's a bird it's a plane no it's a frog no it's just little old me Underdog65 and my Sweetpolly passing your way. |

Made some overmats for the '61 Barnfind to protect the rubber mats. Just used cheap door mats from IKEA that I cut to shape. Did the same to a '66 Beetle I had a while back.
