Now I need to convert the '61 to 12v and install the hitch. |
Bring a bunch of good pictures like this to the Upholstery Shop with your trailer. They should be able to do a good job. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Dustin ........... look for me when you get to Featherly Park.
Here are some shots of the Heilite Mafia at the Type 2's at KQ. All your trailers were tight! I need to get my yonke rolling so I can bring my Heilite out of hibernation.

Does anyone have good photos showing this accessory, single wheel swing away dolly, originally available from Heilite? Also photos showing the glass tailight and how it's secured to the base.
Thank you, Tom |

I haven't seen the swing away dolly in person yet. A friend of mine has a crank down wheel set up on his single wheel but that's a little later then the dolly set-up I believe. _________________ Wanted Victoria motors licence plate frame.

Having just finished making a hitch, I took my Heilite out for a "drag" tonight. It tows really well. Same results with my Puck, but the Heilite has so much more ground clearance and is so much simpler in design than the Puck that the Heilite will spend a lot more time on the hook behind the buggy!

I really like the stripes. Not the usual pale green we know and love. |

Got on an overdue project to replace the wiring stem to stern on my Viking. Holy crap what a can o worms. Started by trying to remove the tail light assemblies. Turns out the best way to do that is to remove the rear aluminum outer skins that the lights are hung on...not really enough room to get a hand on a wrench to the two nuts holding them on otherwise. Once I figured that out I had them off in no time.
The wires need to be loomed onto the tubular arms that cantilever the sides out...if they aren't, they will get pinched when you crank it out and back in.
Found it easier to run the wires from the front by removing the ball assembly from the end of the tongue. Wires from the trailer plug run down the center of the tongue and then are attached by clips to continue the run to the rear.
Painting the tail light assemblies and the ball hitch assembly before reinstalling. Lots of other stuff to do but that will probably wait, I'd rather spend the warm part of the year using it! |
