Good deals get no better than that. I love the little gold/brass stove. What is that? |
It is a swedish stove called a Svea 123. Look it up on youtube it's pretty cool.
The only thing I had to do was change the mantles in the lantern. Add fuel and everything worked.
Guy lived in a huge house on a big property overlooking the LI sound. My money would have dirtied the place up anyway. |
It's amazing he didn't just throw it in the trash. _________________ nothing |

I found a Dometic 3way cooler on Craigslist, located up in the NY ADKs (2hrs from me) but we were headed there for a family camping trip the next weekend.
the guy rents tent campers and was willing to drop it off at our campsite.
fired it up on a 16oz green bottle, ran for ~36hrs chilled inside w/no ice.
it actually made ice in the little ice cube tray.. very nice unit..
not bad delivered for $100 used.
*Edit: Found one on Fleabay for $300 in Fort Collins if anyone wants a 3way portable cooler

During a late BSU Bronco game last fall- I had that 3rd Qtr urge to just take a little look-see. Sure enough, a mint Bay Westy Tent with all the trimmings popped up for $125. I appologetically(sp) called the seller at 10PM- and went out the next morn to pick it up. Since then, I habitually check CL right in the middle of whatever my competition may be watching on TV. _________________

I just picked these up on Thursday - Free!
76 FI Parts - ECU, Complete wiring harness, NOS injector, S Boot & fittings, various vacuum and fuel lines, 6 or 7 original FI line clamps, charcoal canister, 205AB distributor, an ECU/harness that I don't recognize (upper right, maybe DJet or Type 3?) and a few other parts.
Plus a copy of Small Wonder, and a "Compliments of your VW Dealer" Think Small book of VW comics. All in very good condition.

Yeah, while test driving the car to the bank, he had another 4 or 5 calls about it. I just got there at the right time.
Today I picked up stuff to do a complete tune up + timing belt. I think I'll keep er' for a while. Took me a couple weeks to find a clean 4 door. |

I had a 93 Geo metro 2 door. I loved that car and wish they still made them. It only had 3 cylinders but drove fine on the interstate.
Biggest mistake people make is not changing the timing belt soon enough. If it breaks things get bent.
Good luck with your metro, and have fun with it. |

Yup.. I had no problem going 75 on the freeway, although it 'felt' better at 65.
And about the timing belt, correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it a non interference engine? |

Maybe I'm the last to know, but... Naturally, we all use the typical searchwords VW, volkswagen, volkswagon, and the specific models. What I learned last night by typing too fast is the number of clown monkeys (mostly dealers) who use the keyword "Volkwagen".
Great, now I've got to add that one to my scan list _________________

The three cylinder 1 liter engine is an interference engine. I only know this because a neighbor lady had one and she never changed her timing belt. It broke and she bent lots of stuff.
I changed mine at 60 thousand and sold it at 105 thousand. The air conditioning broke and cost more to fix than the car was worth. Here in Florida old farts like me really need AC.
Even my Ghia has AC. |

I did some reading up on it on the 'geometroforum.com' site and many said it is non-interference, but all their manuals and mechanic books state that it is. Weird.
Either way I plan on changing that thing just for good measure. The previous owner was meticulous with maintenance, so I'll do my best to continue the work.
The AC in mine is out as well. The previous owner said that it was working last summer, but when I turned it on, just stale air.. I was hoping that it wouldn't be an expensive fix |

I gave $500 for this beaut. It didn't have a title, but after getting that all sorted out it's a sweet little driver. 1972 Saab 99E fuel injected and everything.

I think the bumper clamps are complete.
