Someone on Samba PMd me to let me know that my Bus seats (which are in my shed in Kelowna, B.C. Canada) are for sale on Craigslist in Francisco.

Isn't Craigslist awesome...I didn't even know I wanted to sell them.

Gordo.

In the fall I found a 1976 Westy that had been sitting in a garage for 20 years. Diane told me many stories of how her dad had driven them all around the US when she was a kid. I could tell that it held a lot of happy memories for her, as she welled up when giving her the $1500 she wanted for it. Even though it needs very little restoration, as I progress on restoring the Marino Yellow Westy with original green plaid interior, I text her pictures. She is very happy to know that it has gone to a good home. A month or so ago, I responded to another ad for a 77 "bus" that had an engine fire. It was actually a Westy....the same colors as mine, that had driven up from California. The guy selling it bought it for scrap and was only asking $600 for it. I planned on keeping the best of the two and putting all of the better items into the best of the two and parting the other...instead I decided to keep the first one and took a couple items from the second that mine was missing, and sold it whole for $1500.

Early 1960's Howard Johnson's Bar Cool

Image may have been reduced in size. Click image to view fullscreen.

The back story is its been in the lady's basement I brought it from off Craigslist for over 50 years. Her father got it out of a HoJo's that was being remodeling in the early 60's and they were throwing this away. He installed it in his basement of his house for the kids to play with and it's been there ever since. He passed a while ago and she inherited the house. She's selling the house now because it's too much upkeep and wanted this gone. Yesterday was first time it's seen daylight in over 50 years! It also came with 8 swivel chairs (5 pictured above) that her father attached wooden bases too because originally they were bolted into the floor.

Howard Johnson's Bar and 8 swivels chairs: $180

My aunt had that exact lamp when I was a kid. I remember it had oil running down the wires running around the outside to mimic rain.

i'm a cheapskate, and i only go after free stuff.

queen size memory foam mattress and base
all of our furniture, table chairs, sofa, chest of drawers, several BBQ's, mountain bikes, beach cruisers, etc etc.
for my use , filing cabinets {great for parts and tool storage} storage shelves, creeper, table saw, washing machines {for fire pits} pretty much everything we need i'll wait for it turn up for free

almost everything in this picture was free, in the bags are bedding, clothes, now we are collecting LOT's of baby clothes

Watch out for free bedding items. Bedbugs!

Have you ever cleaned up after a bedbug infestation? My disabled brother in law lived in a state housing apartment complex that had bedbugs, long story, but yuck!

Time to revive this old clunker!

So many things, but the most recent is a set of Fuchs replicas for a very reasonable price. I don't even like Fuchs, but I figure they will make good trade stock when I need something down the road.

I found this Coleman "Pack Horse 1" single wheel trailer in Ohio while I was painting a mural on a 66 westy. fixed it up, new wheel and bearings. welded the hitch to my bumper mounts, new wiring harness, got a friend to register it on my behalf back home in MA, slapped the new plate on it and pulled it 800 miles home Smile

I remember when Sears use to have those for sale in their lighting department. A clerk caught my older brother sticking something between the strings and the oil was running down onto the floor. My mom was so embarrassed when they found her. But not too embarrassed to keep her from whipping his ass right there on the spot!!

Wouldn't it be really interesting to know what the percentage of fake adds on craigslist really is?
