Images Are good.

I was going to post pics, look in my gallery of my 51.

IF it is a Pod Dash split- NON Zwitter then the following applies-

Standards have-
1. Cable Brakes
2. Only center headliner- no liner near side or rear windows
3. Generally- no chrome molding. Canadian stardards had molding
4. Tranny is 1st gear non syncro and all gears are louder- not "silent" as the deluxes are.
5. Dash pod, clock, shift knob, etc are bakelite brown not ivory colored.
6. choice of colors were limited- I think there were only 3 colors available-NOT 100% sure
7. Seats were held in by 2 bolts with wing nuts and not seat tracks.
8. Wheels were painted body color- excpet for the Swedish model which were painted red.
9. Door handles, decklid handle, hood handle were non chrome.
10. Bumpers were body color- unless opted for the chrome upgrade.
11. NO crotch coolers.
12. They could have original 3 fold ragtops, but are rare. Johnshenry has the only one I know of still around.

I think that is it. If it is a Zwitter, then I THINK it is the same as the 53 OVAL interior- except for the ashtray. I am not perfect on my assessment, but this is what I have picked up over the years.

Hope this helps.

Good call. And at least on the early stds, the horn is out on the left bumper bracket in front of the fender (std only bumper bracket), not underneath/behind the fender like the deluxes.

Also, on the split stds, no door interior light switches.

the standard with the brown radio has deluxe trims around the pods and gloveboxes, shouldnt have any trims, also I think split gloveboxes were bare cardboard without the fabric liners, more like oval gloveboxes, just plain compressed fiber surfaces, and I think no hole for clock winder?

( also note that American spec. Hoffman & export standards had chrome hubcaps, bumpers, window winders ( chrome with black knobs ) & door handles, wiper finish on Hoffman standards is yet to be determined, still a mystery )

True, there shouldn't be trim around the speedo or radio pods, and no hole for the clock winder.
However, keep in mind many Belgian standards (and perhaps Scandinavian standards) did have trim around the gloveboxes and fabric liners in the gloveboxes.
Refer to gallery pics of my car submitted by myself and sunroof.

You have the horn locations reversed:

Horn - Inside Fender Is deluxe.

Horn - Outside Fender on bumper is Standard

On the deluxe there was a horn cover bolted over the horn under the fender also.

Here's a few updates I think are needed:
Standards didn't have any sunvisors - deluxe just had one on the drivers side (as stock)
Interior cloth in the glove box on deluxes was stopped sometime in 1950 I believe.
Crotch coolers started mid April 51 and ended at the end September 52.
Early deluxes had 3 spoke ivory steering wheels. Standard steering wheels were always black.
Gearbox (transmission) is non synchro on both.
Windscreen trim was introduced on deluxes some time in 1951 I believe (and rear window trim for zwitter deluxes).
Interior light surround was ivory on deluxes, brown on standards
Standards didn't have clocks, just a blank dash pod.
The dashboard ashtray introduced in mid 1950 was only for deluxes I think (and zwitter standards had a blanking plate and no ashtray).
I think (but not sure) that standards had black painted widscreen wipers and deluxes had chrome.

I'm sure there's more to add but that's all that springs to mind.

Here are some questions people asked me and I could not find an answer.

Headlight trim :: was it painted on the standard or chrome
Coat hooks :: Did standards have coat hooks and handles?
Hub caps :: did standards have painted hubcaps? Is so what color?

Thanks
