Most of the places i imagine being broke down dont get cell coverage. Unless you have a satellite phone. |
I have to agree with that. I DO carry my cell phone 'cuz it just might get signal. But most places I offroad have no cell phone service available. That includes in my own driveway.

If your cell phone supports an external antenna then it would be wise to carry around a decent sized antenna, that way you would have more of a chance of getting service. |

I carry enough fuel water for 3 days of travel
I only work on my car with the tools that are on it so that I know I have them if something breaks.
On this frame I made all the bolt s athe same 3/8 diameter so with a 9/16 wrench the frame can be tightened any where with one tool
I carry an extra brake drum behind the spare tire
on board compressor and winch with all the accessories
38 gal of fuel
Extra fule pump and any and all electrical spares
A bead cheeta for changing tires. I run tubes so I can repair them on the road.QWhich I have had to do many times so extra tubes. Put in the new and repair the old at lunch break So yes tire irons as well
Lets not forget the first aid kit. My kit is larger than my tool kit
If we get hurt in these we are hours if not days away from help
you'll need a bit more than a bandaid.
Then I have my gun, sling shot and fishing rod Marble and ammunition
So now you can see why may car ways over 2600lbs

What about making a air hose that you can use by pulling a spark plug and using the engine of your car as a compresser. Great for filling tires.

I'd rather pack a small compressor than fill my tires with compressed air/fuel mixture. Also the pressures you'll get wont be much unless you block off the exhaust on that cylinder as well. |

i had noticed this omission earlier and was going to mention it ..but someone did say power bars.. I think a couple quarts of water,some candy, sealed beef jerky and such would be good idea beyond the food items you'll probably have with you any way if your out playing.
i carry extra sunglasses (safety glasses)cause i'm sensitive to the bright sun |

A magnet
i was working on my carberator...duel dells
i droped a vilosity stack nut down the barrel...uh oh!
i have a magnet the size of a ball point pen...with a clip like a pin to hook on shirt of what ever
and then it exdends like a antenna to like 1-1/12 feet...its so small i keep it cliped on top on alloy gauge box |

| and not one rocket scientist mentioned a few bags of beef jerky and bottle of water stuff to keep u thinking straight when ur doing the repairs that just might take 4 or 5 hours in rough conditions !!! b the way those could be stored in a ribbed condom for extra safety and freshness lol |

| And from todays little outing into the mountains ...a tarp and bungee cords . you never know when the weather can or will change on you and its sure nice to have some instant shelter should the need arise (like getting caught out in a thunder storm in a rail! ) the tarp was definitely a hell of a lot easier to unfold and throw over the top of the rail then trying to set up a tent would have been. I usually carry both just because I'd rather be over prepared then caught without. |
