I have to say I've always thought that chrome cookie cutters are some of the best looking wheels on any type of vw. I wear classic ATSs on mine and hope one day to chrome them.

I just had mine redone the "original" way with polished lip and semigloss black center, my biggest mistake... not getting the centercaps painted to match Confused if you get yours chromed, or polished see if they can do the center caps at the same time, ebay seems to have a bunch but beware, 6s and 7s have slightly different caps (ask me how I know)

oh and if your car is red I would suggest what I did, putting a red pinstripe around the rim, really sets em off!!!

Maimas13 - those wheels look bad ass!! I love the pinstripe. My car is actually a nice bright orange (for now). What is the deal with the caps? My wheels are all 6" but would like to know what to look out for when picking up some caps.

And...what size tires are you running f/r. Love the look!

Thanx!

tires are 195/60 r15 in rear and 195/50 r 15 in front.

look at these two adds
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=468504
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=624422

one set is "3 prong" and uses a different diameter cap. this is what the 6s use. the 7s use the ones in the first add and have a larger diameter and dont have prongs. for me to use the 7 inch caps on my 6s up front I had to enlarge the holes with a file and rasp.

also you can buy different colors of pinstriping tape, I think it really ses em off

I'm looking for an opinion(s).....does this sound like a reasonable price?

no caps & no shipping?

http://vancouver.en.craigslist.ca/pts/731735454.html

I really like both of your choices......chrome & black Applause

Thanks in advance

Ron

thats a pretty fair price... I bought my first ones for $200 at a swap meet, four 15x7s with three brand new 195/50 r15s, and four caps . But then I ended up spending 75-100 for each 6 inch wheel. then if youre gunna pay to have em polished and painted black plan on $150 per wheel, but you could probally run those ones as is if you wanted to (mine looked horrible, factory clear coat was chipping).

I'd still try kicking the guy down to like 200 bux tho.

I appreciate the input.....I still am tossing the idea around right now. They are not going to be for my present car but my next car.

As everything, there are always additional costs like you have mentioned....caps,polishing,painting,shipping,etc...etc...

Thanks
Ron
