they seem to be grouped by color now! I tried to post pix but ... Talked to a lady just outside the office and she said they just do a few restorations. There is a reply to this thread with their web site; I went to the web site and it "worked".

If you use Google street view for "old lee hwy & northwood dr, Pulaski, VA" you can see all the vans. Google earth shows maybe the collection getting to 200 vans?! The Google camera is high enough to look over the covered fence. I thought this type of collection could only be found in the Pacific NW.

I have seen some of their buses on ebay.. high reserve, bids get real high, but not quite close to the reserve.. they never seem to sell..

while there is a website there, there does not seem to be a lot of substance to the pretty pictures..

seems dubious some how..

Wow! I counted 201 vans but I could have missed one or two...

What the hell are they doing with them all?

Morybob: Do you remember who the engine rebuilder was that you talked to last year about vanagon heaven. I am in NC and am looking for a rebuilder. My van is a 1987 Westy with 199000 miles on the engine.
I have seen the collection in the past year and it is awesome to see.

I stopped by two different days last week, hoping to meet this guy.
All the neighbors were there but he wasn't. Unfortunately a lot of these Vanagons are not holding up very well, outside like this. HE has had lots of
people show interest in these, according to the neighbors. MAybe this is why
he's trying to hold on to them all? ONe thing for sure. Letting them sit
like this is doing more damage then good. He needs to make a plan
and get these vanagons moving again.

Maybe somebody could convince E.L.F. that these are living things with a need to roam free again. They'll cut down the fence and let them all escape, like they do at the mink farms.

Many here in the Northeast, know the vans he purchased.
They were not prize winning vans from the get go.
I past on parting many of them as they were beat and severely rusted.
I am sure they are even more rusted now just sitting uncovered.

I hope he has a few cats around or that looks to be a huge mouse colony.

At least they have Buddies to talk to just sitting there Wink
