4 wheels pitted,flaked chrome with a plastic coating to protect,about half peeled off. going for silver retro look. any advise on chrome removal and getting smooth surface,big help. must do all myself,budget shot. have angle grinder,various air tools. no media blastiing. any chemicals to strip off? thanks.

Your local machine shop might be able to dip the wheels in the hot tank and that might take the peeling off or atleast get it to where you can finish pulling it off. Good luck! Post some pics!

I don't think that the voltage matters because the gauge is mechanical.
