not i would not, i looked into the moped vs scooter or motorcycle laws and thats nowhere close.

first off you do not have pedals, which immediately disqualifies it. technically the moped laws limit it to 49cc and under 2 horsepower, the vehicle can also not exceed 30mph and must only have one gear. it must also not have any kind of eclectic or kick start. there are also rules about handlebar height and some other odd ball rules but thats not a moped, not even close

If you read it, you'd see that he never said the 110cc was a moped. I like it, looks like fun. But then what do I know, I'm gettin to be an old fart.

I know, I know, I didn't put the apostrophe in gettin. Does that make it misspelled or grammatically incorrect?

Thats what they look like complete. I have a yellow one. Its missing most of the extra parts, they were removed for total speed long ago.

Actually it is registered as a moped/scooter, same thing to me, two stroke 50cc and air cooled, google YSR 50 if you dont know about them. Street legal too. The block is stamped 49cc I think, I will go check. Made from 87-92 as street legal mopeds/scooters. Honda makes them still (NSR 50) but with no street legal titles now-just for racing.

Its not a 6 speed, its a 5 speed. And the top speed is 50mph (on the speedo anyway).

It's a '98 tomos. I picked it up for $225.
It used to (I think) belong to a rental company in Martha's vineyard.
wasn't running when i first got it, now it starts on the first kick.
My performance exhaust is in the mail Cool

my moped fever is almost getting as bad as my vw fever. Laughing

ok, there is no catagory as "moped/scooter" its one or the other, i can buy scooter, but it is in no way a moped, like that other chopper its not even close. first off there are no pedals, if there are no pedals to power the unit than it is not a moped, everyone just assumes because something is "49cc" that its a moped, its not that has nothing to do with it.
also you have more than 1 gear and exceed 30mph.

50cc or under with pedals = moped
50cc or under without pedals = noped
50cc or under without pedals and sat on like a toilet bowl = Scooter

All of which are register under the same classification: as mopeds (in most states anyways)

i think you could skirt around the law in pretty much every area but that one, its kind of what defines a "moped" a MOtorized PEDal bike
